There is still time to enroll in one of our two classes starting on Sunday 8/18. The Puppy Basics 101 class is at 11 am and is suitable for puppies aged 8 to 16 weeks. Not Too Shaggy Pet parents, it is the season for KENNEL COUGH. I have not had any cases come up at my place yet but the daycares are all reporting cases popping up (they see dogs more frequently so are one of the first to notice). Please, if your puppy or dog has a low level dry cough or gagging, hacking with a bit of spit-up please keep them home! Bordetella 💉 DOES NOT mean your dog cannot contract or spread kennel cough. They still can.
Also, you may want to check with your groomer if you have an appt and your dog is coughing. Depending on their setup, they may want to postpone appt so please let them know.
Other things to avoid are bringing your pup shopping in dog friendly environments around other dogs or any dog socialization while symptomatic. Kennel cough is a very common part of having dogs but it is very contagious and can be avoidable. Lets not spread it around if we can help it. Most cases are mild and pass quickly but it can become quite serious for some dogs.
Lastly, of course contact your veterinarian as they may want to advise or see your dog.
Meet Rosie. I first met her in September when we had a home behavioral session. Rosie suffered from debilitating fear. She was absolutely terrified of most of who and what life had to offer.
Tonight she had her 4th private Obstacles class with her sister Lacy and mom and dad. She has blossomed so much and is now learning to trust humans. She was like my best friend during the entire class. Its so rewarding to help a dog like Rosie actually learn to trust, love and appreciate humans. I live for moments like this. They begin their next 4 week round in 2 weeks and I cannot wait to see her continued transformation 🩷
Reunited with his friend Burlington (aka Burl) from 4 months ago. These boys were so happy to see each other again. Such growth, they were so little back then and best buds. Now Burl at 93 lbs and Bubba at 128 lbs, their play was much bigger but still very respectful. Hoping they can stay friends for life.
All Paws resident puppy Bubba, a 10 month Neapolitan Mastiff with McCartney. She and her 2 look alike sisters Lennon and Indiana are all deaf Great Danes. When they come for their training class we try to give them social time afterwards. Bubba adores all 3 girls and it seems to be mutual💙💝
