First session in home behavioral today for Augie, an 8 month old rescue sweetie who is over the top excited and also has a edge of fear mixed in at times. When I arrived, she gave me her normal greeting of incessant jumping and overexcitement to the point of not being able to hear or process her people. I decided to try to introduce the treadmill early on because they really have no practical means of decompression for her. I got her started for a few minutes until she settled in, then turned her over to her awesome mom Theresa, who is here in the video. Augie walked for a total of about 25 minutes, and when she was done, she fell into a beautiful deep sleep. Today is the first day of her new calm, peaceful life. We will follow up soon and definitely have more work to do but todays start point was very important.
