🌨️❗ Attention MayDOG Maynard Dog Park Users ❗🌨️

As we gear up for snowy weather, we’d like to remind everyone of our winter policy:

🐾 The Maynard Dog Park will be closed if there’s an accumulation of 3 inches of snow or more (and it sure sounds like this storm will bring more than that amount). This ensures safety for all visitors and helps protect the park.

Please check for updates here before heading out. Thank you for your understanding, and let’s keep our furry friends happy and safe this winter! 🐶❄️

Our Maynard Dog Park needs your help! We're organizing a weekly trash pickup schedule and could use your support. It’s a quick and easy way to give back to the park you and your furry friends love—just 10 minutes of your time! 🐾

Here’s How You Can Help:
🗑️ Empty trash bags from the four barrels in the park.
♻️ Reline barrels with new bags (we provide them).
🚮 Place full bags in the plastic trash barrel and affix a waste sticker (provided).
📦 Wheel the barrel to the curb on Saturday or Sunday for Monday pickup.
🐕 Re-stock waste bag dispensers.

We provide everything you need:
✅ Gloves
✅ P**p bags
✅ Trash bags
✅ Waste stickers

Very shy, do not call or pursue, please - just call in any sightings.

UPDATE 1-9-25: STILL MISSING: Cassie is still missing with only sporadic sightings, including a potential sighting in Wi******er yesterday.

Please everyone in the Wi******er/Arlington/Waltham/Concord/Rt 2 area: call in any sighting immediately and check under decks, ring camera footage, garages, etc.

UPDATE 12/4/24 STILL MISSING Cassie is still missing with virtually no sightings. Please if you see her DO NOT chase her or call out, just call 978-790-8031 right away with time and location and direction of travel (a photo would be a plus). If you live in the Lexington/Concord/Acton/Maynard/Sudbury/Stow areas please keep an extra eye on your outdoor security cameras. As always, please keep sharing Cassie's post to generate sightings and bring her home!

11/25/24 Cassie is still missing and could be anywhere. She was last seen in on Route 2 near the Lincoln/Lexington exit. Please check camera footage, sheds, under decks, garages, barns, and hiding places. Please reach out if you may have seen anything at all!

🐾🎃 Halloween Candy & Your Pets: Keep Them Safe! 🎃🐾

Halloween is a time for fun costumes and candy galore! But remember, Halloween treats can be dangerous for your dogs and cats! Chocolate, wrappers, and sugary sweets are harmful to your furry friends. 🐕🐈

Here are 4 tips to keep your pets safe:

Store candy securely – Keep it in cabinets or on high shelves, out of paw’s reach.

Watch the wrappers – Foil and plastic can cause serious digestive issues if swallowed.

Educate your little goblins – Remind kids not to share their loot with pets.

Know the signs – If your pet gets into candy, watch for vomiting, diarrhea, or lethargy, and contact your vet immediately. (***Remember, Maynard has a new veterinary urgent care clinic at Maynard Crossing - https://pawsitivecareuc.com )

Our Maynard Dog Park needs your help with weekly trash pick up.

🐾 A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers! 🐾

We are so grateful to the 13 incredible volunteers who spent their Sunday morning with us on August 18th, helping to spread mulch and make our Maynard Dog Park beautiful once again! 🌟 Your dedication and hard work truly make a difference, and we couldn’t do it without you!

A special shoutout to Dan from Handy for Hire LLC who not only donated his time but also brought his tractor to speed up the process. Your generosity and support are beyond appreciated, Dan! 🚜

Also, thank you once again to our wonderful, anonymous supporter for donating the mulch! ❤️ 🫶

Together, we’ve shown that when our community collaborates, we can keep our volunteer-operated dog park thriving and beautiful.

MayDOG needs you!

To all those who use the Maynard Dog Park, your help is urgently needed as the future of our organization is in jeopardy.

At present, we have several openings on the Board of MayDOG and are in pursuit of candidates ASAP to begin the onboarding process to fill these posts. If you do not feel that you can commit to joining the Board, we are in desperate need of volunteers in order to keep the park open.

Examples of what we need volunteer help with include:
Trash duty
Organizing cleanups
Fundraising
Newsletter

If you have a special skill in areas such as accounting, website maintenance, social media/PR or the law, that would be great, but all you really need is a love of dogs, a desire to keep the park running as part of a team and a couple of hours every month for meetings, light park maintenance tasks etc.

The Maynard Dog Park is an asset to the community due to the increasing number of residents in and around the area who seek a nearby location where they can take their loyal companion for some much-needed socialization and off leash exercise in a safe environment.

Please remember that the Maynard Dog Owners Group is just that. It’s a group of local dog owners that are seeking to better the community in which we live.

Please help us keep the doors to the dog park open - we are 100% volunteer run and we simply cannot exist without volunteers!
