Trail class!
Sweet boys trail class video! We ended up second place in a very close class and were sitting second overall as well! He nailed EVERY obstacle just like we were supposed to and was so good. I’m extremely proud of this horse and how far he has came from completely unbroken to this in 100 days. On to the freestyle! #hopteamgilligan
Gilly and I are Winfield bound! We are so excited to meet everyone and can’t wait to get there! Thank you to all of our supporters and sponsors for getting us this far ❤️ if you feel inclined, please go vote for us as fan favorite ❤️

My great friend and client Regan took Gilligan for a ride today. It’s so satisfying when they are good with other riders 🫶 Always trust the process! #hopteamgilligan
Gilligan 8/6
Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale… Btw, this is my 3rd required post!
If you’re looking for a new horse, look no further… Gilligan aka “Gilly” is a 3-4 year old Appalachian Brumby who really doesn’t need an introduction.. he’s been with heart of phoenix equine rescue since he was a tiny little baby after being hit by a car near horse pen mountain in WV. He was a part of a wild herd there, which I find pretty fascinating. The volunteers at HOP literally saved his life by getting him the appropriate vet care and doing very diligent work on his injuries. You wouldn’t even know he had a traumatic beginning to life by looking at him now!
Gilly has the sweetest personality and loves people. He stands at 14.1 hands tall, y’all know good things come in small packages!
He has a nice walk, trot and canter under saddle. He knows his leads well, side-passes, backs up, does simple lead changes and will pivot on the rear and forehand. He stands to be mounted, will cross obstacles, track cattle, go over ground poles and even jump small cross rails. He also does ground work very well. I’ve sat on him and taught barrel lessons while horses were running and going all different directions, he doesn’t care. Gillian’s favorite thing to do is trail ride and spend time with his person. He likes a challenge and wants to learn new things. I’ve shot cap guns off of him, drug objects, opened gates, and used him as a pony horse. He’s trail ridden in groups and out alone, it doesn’t really matter to him. He is traffic safe! Gilly stands cross-tied as well as straight tied to any object. He loads on a ramp or without and will back off. He eats and drinks on the road well, and stalls quietly in new places. He loves to be out in the pasture, I personally have not had him out in a herd here. I have a lot of training horses in and I try to avoid turning horses together to do my best in keeping injuries and the cross contamination of germs down. I do bel
Cow work with Gilly
Today we did something different, worked cattle! This guy will try anything. We cut a couple out and worked them on the fence line, went through fields and opened gates. He had some much fun and really wanted to work for me. Also, big thanks to some great friends for letting us come play. Full videos coming tomorrow! #hopteamgilligan

Jesse doesn’t get enough recognition for his “day job”. Cool little clip of a reset on a colt lastnight! We do allow haul-ins 🫶
One of my client horses that has been in for a colt start. Malibu came to me extremely reactive and scared of the world itself. She didn’t trust anyone much less the scary person who was putting her to work. It took me several weeks to build a bond with her and she’s made a 180 since! It’s not perfect but we’re riding in the outdoor pen with tractor trailer zooming by and she’s willingly doing everything I ask.
I honestly thing the difficult ones are the most rewarding 🫶
Add pony’s with side-by-side to gillys resume 🤪

Happy 4th of July from us!
Flag horse deluxe ❤️

Gilly and I took a little solo trail ride today. It’s nice to take a break from riding in the arena all day and just enjoy the woods. This little horse never ceases to amaze me.. if he isn’t snapped up by someone after the Appalachian Trainer Face Off, someone missed the boat 🛥️

Dinner time 💫
This boy makes me so happy just to be around. He’s always so curious as to what I have for him…. A feed bucket is 100% his favorite thing to see🤣
This week we have worked on collection and sharpening up a lot of our maneuvers. Its been extremely hot and dry here so I haven’t had a chance to have anyone video this week but hopefully we will get some new content this week while Jesse is home 🫰🏼
Also, if anyone has a old canoe/small boat they would sell for a small feel or possibly donate to us for part of our freestyle PM me please 😄
Anyways, Gilligan and I hope you’ve had a fantastic weekend 🍉
