Our monthly pet pantry will be at our ANDREWS CENTER (2451 N Expressway 281) this Saturday from 10-12! We hold a pet food pantry so that anyone who may be struggling to feed their pet can get what they need and keep that pet in their homes. There is no registration required, and the event is drive-thru only.

We will provide pet food while supplies last‼️‼️

If you need just a little help to get by, we hope to see you on Saturday!

We grew up seeing this sign in every house that has dogs.

That's why some, if not most, dogs are left tied for the rest of their short life and they're tagged to be dangerous. So beware!

Where in fact, we should STOP this wrong connotation that dogs are dangerous. And dogs are just as good as 'guard of your house'.

Dogs are not just pets nor guards.

They should be treated like family.

Dogs, like children, if guided and trained accordingly, will grow kind and not that dangerous.

You know what is really dangerous? Irresponsible dog owners. SO BEWARE!

So your thinking of breeding your pit bull dog or buying from a breeder, please consider this first.

1. Pit bull dogs are the #1 bred dog in America and the hardest to find homes for because of insurance companies, rental properties and negative stigmas. Only 1 out of every 600 pit bull dogs that enter shelters make it out alive.

2. Pit bull dogs are the most euthanized class of dogs locally and nationally. 75% of municiple shelters in America euthanize pit bull type dogs immediately upon intake, they never even get a chance to find a home or be evaluated. An average of 2800 Pit bull type dogs are killed EVERY SINGLE DAY in shelters, more than ONE MILLION KILLED ANNUALLY!

3. Pit bull dogs have the highest reported cases of abuse, neglect, cruelty and abandonment in the United States, so a large percentage of the ones who do make it out are still faced with an uncertain and challenging future.

So if your thinking of breeding or buying please remember that there are way more pit bull type dogs already out there waiting than there are homes to put them in. These statistics are the harsh reality of a nationwide epidemic where thousands of innocent dogs and puppies are being murdered and if you breed or buy from a breeder you are part of the problem not the solution.

911 we need help!!

We are running out of time.

Black mold was discovered in our Trenton Center, and we must evacuate the building to allow remediation teams to work. We are expecting repairs to take two weeks.

We have until 7 p.m. on Tuesday to remove 135 pets from this facility. We need help. We need it now.

Big thanks to the few folks who stepped up yesterday to help us move animals into foster care, but we're down to just three days before all animals must be removed from our Trenton adoptions building, and we still have more than 150 animals to get out of the shelter.

Our primary need is for puppies and medium-large dogs. We'll provide all the supplies you need! Because it's a short time period that you'll be housing the pets (approximately two weeks), we can even teach you how to keep your shelter pet separate from your own pets so that other pets in the household don't have to adjust to a new visitor.

RGV, we really need you. Please help these pets. This is lifesaving work that YOU CAN DO TODAY!
