All Cats receive their first FVRCP vaccine, dewormer and flea prevention and microchipped. We have partnered with the University of Florida Veterinary Community Outreach Program as well as local Veterinarians and attempt to get the animals spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, and rabies vaccinated prior to adoption but we can only take a few at a time each week. If this procedure has not been completed prior to adoption, the adopter will have 30 days from the date of adoption to spay/neuter the pet and return the proof to the shelter. Statute 823.15

All adoptions are subject to application approval. Animals currently in the home must be kept current on vaccines through a licensed Veterinarian. Intake Policy: Suwannee Co. does not have a leash law. Dogs are allowed to roam; however, they are not allowed to be a nuisance. Please do not pick up a roaming animal as animals are considered property. Simply call animal services with the location of the animal and an officer will respond. If your neighbor's animal comes on your property, please do not feed it as it will stay. Please call animal services so they can address the issue with the owner. Please do not bring in an animal without calling the shelter first. We are a STRAY facility only! We will help you in any way we can by providing resources for you as well as recommended veterinarians to spay and neuter your animals to help the situation. Overcrowding in shelters leads to outbreaks, euthanasia and neglect in animal care. We ask you check with your neighbors. If you claim a dog is dumped, we now are asking for tag numbers in order to follow through with the claim. WE FOLLOW CAPACITY FOR CARE HEALTH CODE www.sheltervet.org/guidelines-for-standards-of-care-in-animal-shelters WE ALSO FOLLOW THE FLORIDA STATUTE 837.06

Mozzy is a sweet and gentle soul who’s just looking for a calm and loving home. She may be a little timid at first, but she warms up quickly with a little patience and kindness. At around 3–4 years old, Mozzy enjoys peaceful environments and would thrive in a quiet home where she can feel safe and secure. She walks nicely on a leash and seems to get along well with other calm, well-mannered dogs. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will blossom with love and care, Mozzy might be your perfect match!

🇺🇸 Holiday Weekend Pet Safety Reminder! 🐾

With the Fourth of July holiday weekend here, please remember to keep your pets safe and comfortable. Fireworks, crowds, and summer heat can be overwhelming for our furry friends. Here are a few tips to help them feel secure:

🔹 Keep Pets Indoors – Fireworks can be scary. Keep your pets inside, away from loud noises and flashing lights.
🔹 Create a Safe Space – Set up a quiet, cozy spot with their favorite bed or blanket to help them feel calm.
🔹 Use Calming Aids – Consider using white noise machines, calming chews, or anxiety wraps if your pet is especially sensitive.
🔹 Avoid Fireworks and Cookout Scraps – Never let pets near fireworks, and keep them away from human food, especially bones, alcohol, and anything toxic.
🔹 Check ID Tags and Microchips – Make sure your pet’s ID is up-to-date in case they get spooked and run off.

Let’s make this a fun and safe holiday for everyone—two-legged and four-legged alike! 🐶🐱💥
