We often recommend hanging bells by the door as a house training aid. As you take your new puppy outside ring the bells with the puppy's nose or paw so he learns a way for him to communicate with you that he has to "go potty". This is a one-year-old Border Collie who has learned to ring the bells to go outside. The one with hands wasn't responding fast enough ;-)
In this 10 second video you can see the singletrees that are connected to each pony's set of tugs. And how the singletrees join to the evener and the evener connects to the tongue that is carried between them by the yoke which is connected to their collars. Our mascots, Jett and Cian, were along for the ride, too. The purpose of yokes on oxen carts may be different. The oxen may actually push it along drawing the cart after them via the tongue. Maybe someone who knows more about that could illuminate us :-)
