'Tis the season for family gatherings. If you have young children and dogs, please be aware that your dogs may behave unpredictably with the festivities over the next couple of weeks. Young children tend to be loud and move fast -- especially with all the Christmas magic coursing through their veins.

Please be proactive where your dogs are concerned. Give them a private, quiet space where they can get away from the chaos when necessary. Even the most socialized, "loves everybody" type of dog can get overwhelmed with the change in routine and activity level.

Puppies First Thing
Throwing a set of high energy puppies into a pack with mostly older kin, is not very smart. Kinda like throwing a bear into a hornet's nest and let's see what happens.

This is the right way to integrate younger and older Shepherds without a vet bill!

The Shepherds Come First

Have you ever had a car that everything went wrong at the same time. Well that’s what happened here

Gallbladder, Ulcers, and Thyroid knocked me on my 🫏.

I am still here but believe I am going home today.

Roxane has been holding down the fort, but is stressed out and I wanted to let her know how proud I am of her.

Back when she first joined us at Misfit Acres, the first thing I said to her, “I love you very much, but the Shepherds come first”.

She turned around looked at me with the most serious expression I had ever seen and said, “You got that right “

4 years 3 months later, Roxane still showed how important we all are to her.

We are so blessed.
