Candi Update. Candi has completed her training through our Ferry Tail program and is ready to be adopted though Humane Society of McCormick County. Candi has completed 5 weeks of training and is ready for her forever home. She is wary of strangers in the begging but opens up quick and loves hard. She is very food motivated and eager to please. She has a hilarious personality it’s hard not to love and laugh at. She is fully crate trained and knows commands such as Sit, Down, Place, Come, an implied Stay and she walks beautifully on a loose leash. One thing that often gets overlooked during training is what we call threshold discipline. Threshold Discipline is important for safety. When it comes to exiting crates, going out doors, exiting a vehicle or entering and exiting rooms with closed doors. Threshold discipline helps to ensure safely so that dogs understand they must be invited to cross threshold. Here at Ferry Good Dog Training we do our best to incorporate training into everything we do. One of the biggest thing we teach owners is time management skills. Alot of people say they are concerned they are so busy they dont have the time to continue training. Here is an example of working a dog while simultaneously completing another task. This allows us to work on training, mentally stimulate our dog and not take anymore time out of our day then we already had alotted to complete this task.
