RIP sweet Bay!!! I’ll never forget you!!

Bay Fitzhugh, longtime resident of Augusta, passed away Friday, October 20, surrounded by loved ones at his home.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 28 at 2pm, at Augusta Memorial Park.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson Wilson Funeral Home of McCrory.

The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.

What people don’t think about…

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid-back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work-life balance.

You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All while being a puppy parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend...

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed.

It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives.

Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!

And know that 2022 prices are not 2023 prices.

Humanity over Vanity EVERY TIME!!

If your dog has matting to the skin I WILL shave the matting and not attempt to brush it out!! If you’re dog is excessively matted, this will require an additional fee, depending on the severity. This is because matting can be difficult and painful to remove and not only is it hard on your pet, it is extremely bad for my equipment. To avoid and extra fee and avoid matting I recommend brushing and combing your fur baby multiple times a week. If you can’t do the brushing and maintenance in between grooming then I recommend scheduling monthly. It will be better on me, better on your dog and cheaper on you!!!

Had the pleasure of helping this poor neglected dog that my neighbor picked up all alone walking down the road. Pretty sure he’s blind in both eyes and possible hearing loss. Pray this little guy makes it to a good place where they can get him some medical attention and all the love he can stand!! He had a huge toothpick looking thing matted in his fur in his groin area!!! ✂️🐾❤️🐶❤️🐾✂️
