We save dogs and cats other shelters might euthanize for lack of funds. League City Pets Alive funds most of the non-emergency veterinary care the League City Animal Shelter animals receive. Heartworm treatment/prevention, diagnostic testing, medications, medical supplies, flea prevention, food and formula for fostering fragile puppies and kittens. We accomplish this by being a non profit, having

tireless supporters, and an incredibly generous Facebook community. In 12 years we have forged many partnerships and coalitions. We are Adoption Partners with PetSmart, PETCO, and Pet Supplies Plus, in five stores throughout League City and Clear Lake. We have adoptable cats at these stores and are always looking for additional volunteers. When a dog or cat catch the attention of a person willing to spearhead a fundraiser you will see an article on Facebook and Cuddly.com. They have raised thousands of dollars to treat the animal's condition enabling the dog or cat be adopted and live a long, pain free life.

Sociable and active Lily, was called 'the greeter' by her late mom because she ran to meet anyone, family or stranger, who walked in the door (don't get rid of the alarm system).

Lily is up for adoption because her single mom died unexpectedly. She's in a foster home with other cats and a dog and tolerates them. She'd prefer to be an only cat or at least, the only female. Only diva per household, please.

Lily loves to chase balls and play with her spiral spring toys. Both wet and dry food are eagerly accepted.

Lily will jump in your lap at her discretion and whim. It is her gift to you!

Lily can get overstimulated. The key is to find her tipping point before she lets you know she's had enough. Keeping things low-key will help. Letting her run and play will help. Allow Lily to take the lead in jumping into your lap...or not. Her choice. Most cats do better when handled this way.

While Lily is not the right cat for a family with young, active children, she would shine in an adult household or one with older kids who understand that Lily is at her best when she is not forced to do things and is free to be Lily.

Lily is about five years-old. She is healthy, vaccinated, microchipped and negative for heartworm, FIV and FeLV.

*An adoption fourteen months in the making!*

Shelby has just been adopted by a wonderful young couple! They have no animals, which is great news for Shelby, who prefers to fly solo! What makes this adoption so special? Shelby was abandoned at the condo complex where she resided with her elderly caretaker. He had recently passed away and when the condo was cleaned out, the small dog was taken away, but Shelby was left behind to fend for herself. Shelby now has the rest of her life to make new memories with two people who already love her. A special thanks to volunteer Ann, Shelby's foster mom. Shelby was not a fan of store condo living and spent time at Ann's for 'condo respites,' eventually staying with her until her adoption day!

Independent Maxwell is a handsome tabby with a striking swirl pattern on his coat, akin to a perfect bullseye. He was one of six kittens born to a neighborhood cat.

Maxwell loved being with his siblings and a small dog in a foster home. He's easy going but has some favorites. Maxwell is partial to dry food over wet, loves scaling cat trees and wrestling catnip-infused mice into submission!

We're convinced he's channeling the spirit of a 16th-century explorer, because the number one question around his foster home was: "Where's Maxwell? When he's done exploring, he'll run to you for head scratches and tummy tickles and reward you with lots of purring.

a) the proverbial fly on the wall
b) the sight of nail trimmers
c) the sound of fresh water being poured into their bowls
d) something flying around that only cats can see

Could have been any of them, but it was the fresh water. Some cats even enjoy drinking from special fountains designed for cats!
