We will not be open Sunday 01/12, but we will resume business as usual the following week.
We will be making snowmen, snow angels, snow ball fights, four wheeling, and frolicking in the snow. BE SAFE!

Farm pickup eggs are sold out until the end of the week
Restocking Wednesday
is stocked as of Sunday
market eggs will be available on our website Wednesday at 9am. We highly encourage preorders.

🐓❄️After 2 weeks of no market & the weather forecast….not to mention the national egg supply has some holes in it, we know you are eager to get eggs.

🫠We appreciate your support & we ask that you be patient with us AND please remember us in the spring/summer when there is not an egg shortage. After years of experience raising poultry on pasture & supplying our community, we can tell you it doesn’t matter how many chickens we have, we are drowning in eggs in the summer begging you to support us & in the winter we are constantly sold out. It’s the nature of the beast I suppose, but your local egg raisers need your support all year long. ❤️❤️

Please remember that Pine Hill Road is still closed for construction. From the south, you can take Edgemon to Tallant to McDonald Road and from the north you can take Lee Highway to McDonald Road. Open Sundays 10-2.

Hello community, with the cancellation of the Ooltewah Farmers Market, we have decided to open our door. We have a wonderful harvest of lettuce, Swiss chard, turnip greens, dandelion greens, leeks, green onions, bell peppers and more. Thousand Hills Family Farm has stocked us with plenty of eggs. So if this message finds you, we will be open 09/26/2024 Thursday 12-6. Come see us!

This is one of several green bean crates being picked this morning. We will have lots of green beans at both Farmers on First and Grindstone Gardens today. If you want to buy a large quantity for canning or freezing, please let us know before 9 AM.

We have a lot of people in the community ask for gardening advice and farm tours. We have decided to do a walk around and discuss the basics of starting a garden. This will be for beginner gardeners and we will discuss tools, soil preparation, and when to start crops. We will look at the market garden and a beautiful home garden at Loblolly Cottage who is our wonderful neighbor and vendor at our farm stand. If interested please sign up in person at the farm stand and you must prepay $20. There will be a limited number of spots. The tour will be held on 9/22/24 at 5:00 p.m. and should last about three hours. Thank you community for all of your support!

REMINDER!!! The Grindstone Gardens farm stand hours are Sunday 10:00 to 2:00 only.

The fall garden is looking great so far. We are trying some new crops this season. Surprise surprise! Another reminder that we will be cutting our hours to Sunday only 10:00 to 2:00 starting September 1st. Have a great week!
