The breed counts are up for the Westminster Kennel Club dog show 2025 which will be back in NYC for the first time since pre-Covid. Thirty-two terrier breeds will be represented. Breed judging will take place at the Javits Center.
The terrier breed with the highest entry is the Scottish Terrier.
The terrier breed with the smallest entry is the Dandie Dinmont Terrier.
There are nine Glens entered (6-3). Terrier breeds will be judged on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 in Ring #1 at 11:45 first in and under judge Randy Garren.

Unlike Richard Reynolds who "hates going to Meet the Breeds", I love it and I will be there again this year at the Javits Center on January 25-26.
See his article about the importance of Meet the Breed events below or online at the link (pp72-73).
The Glen of Imaal Terrier Club of America will have some returning Glen volunteers this year and a couple new Glen faces for you to meet.
The focus as always will be on breed education. Learn about grooming, temperament, training, health and anything else you would like to ask. Hoping to see you there!
If you are a GITCA member living in the NYC area with a healthy well-socialized Glen and would like to volunteer, we have room for a few more volunteers so reach out to me ASAP for details.

The year-end conformation dog show stats have been posted on the Canine Chronicle website and Tipperary Glens had a great year!
In Breed standings we have five in the Top 40:
Louis at #4, Tori at #10, Sully at #22, Chance at #32 and F***y also at #32 (tie)

In All Breed standings we have six in the Top 40:
Louis #5, Tori #7, Sully #16, Ruthie #21, F***y #22, and Chance #35

In the Owner Handler Top 15 for 2025 (Sept. 19 thru Dec. 31) we have three: Louis #3, Sully #4 and Chance #9.

*Louis is GCHB CH Tipperary Good And Plenty De Burgh At Clanbrassil owned by Jude & Bill Lang
*Tori is GCH CH Tipperary Hershey Kisses De Burgh RN, owned by Ann Fryer Burke, handled by Amanda Ross

*Ruthie is CH Tipperary Too Ra-Loo Ra-Loo Ral, owned and handled by me

Perhaps your expectations are not in sync with your puppy's level of develpment? As always, some good advice here from Jane (Puppy Culture). I highly recommend her classes and books.

“Help! My puppy won’t go for a walk! He goes like three steps and then he stops and sniffs or won’t move, then he bites the leash. What's wrong with my puppy?”

GCH Tipperary Hershey Kisses De Burgh RN "Tori", handled by Amanda Ross, co-owned by Ann Fryer Burke and myself, took Best of Breed at the Space Coast Kennel Club of Palm Bay all breed dog show in Orlando, FL on December 10, 2024 under Judge Brian Meyer. The entry was twenty Glens, but there were a few absent. Her win photo arrived today. What a nice early Christmas gift!
Tori is by Int'l CH Gleann Ho Ho Hogan and out of CH Tipperary Carrigeen De Burgh BN RA CGCA.

UPDATE: Mr. Yellow is now Sully and his new owners did not know that their puppy has a handsome Uncle Sully! :)

Another one of the "Aidan x Ruthie" boys left the farm on this cold blustery day for a home just north of Pittsburgh. They will let me know once he tells them his new name.
Farewell, Mr. Yellow! We will miss you!

Congratulations to Darla and Sully (GCH Tipperary O'Sullivan's March) who took a well-deserved Best of Opposite in the NOHS Series Final competition in Orlando this morning!
BOB was won by long-time Glen breeder, Jody Daulton, and her girl, Kinsey.
I will share a photo of Darla & Sully when I have one!!!
This is an invitational event and the competition is very tough. I am thrilled that Darla and Sully did so well this year! It took a lot of hard work and many dog shows to just qualify for this event.

Meet the Breeds was once held in Orlando in December in conjunction with the National Championship dog show there. The show is still there, but the Meet the Breeds event isn't.
BUT there is a huge Meet the Breeds in NYC the last weekend in January at the Javitt's Center and GITCA will have a booth as we have had the last 4-5 years.

Today at the Brevard KC show in Orlando, FL, in an entry of 20 Glens, the brother/sister pair of Tori (GCH Tipperary Hershey Kisses de Burgh RN) and Louis (GCHB Tipperary Good and Plenty at Clanbrassil) were BOB and BOS/BOBOH respectively! I am over the moon! Congrats to their owners Ann Fryer Burke and Jude Lang! Thank you Judge Brian Meyer. Well done to handler Amanda Ross who showed Tori...AND Jude & Louis took a Group 3 in the Owner-Handled Group competition! Congratulations!

Another male puppy left Tipperary Farm this weekend… Mr. Brown, a favorite of many due to his cute baby pics, is heading home to CT with experienced Glen owners Christopher and Grant. They are still deciding on his new name. I will let you know what that turns out to be!
