Introducing our newest board and train: Lady 🐞

This little lady is from📍 Michigan and transported here to go through a 3 week Advanced Skills board and train.

Lady is a sweet pup but struggles when it comes to impulse control. She also pulls like a freight train 🚂 on the leash and struggles to focus. 👀

We started her off with a bath right away to get her feeling and smelling her best! 🤩

Looking forward to watching this girl progress!

Today is this pretty girls last day! 😢
Thena has done amazing with her new approach to scent detection! We’ve worked on reprinting scent, sharpening her alert market, and introducing a more vast variety of scent samples 🐶
Jealous that this girl will get a little more warmth this winter when she’s back in Georgia…..but for now I think she is LOVING the snow ⛄️

These babies had their golden birthday earlier this month! 🥳
The world got a whole lot crazier 4 years ago on December 4th.
These pups 🐶 are SO opposite it’s not even funny. It turned out it’s exactly what we needed. Flex 💪 adds a sensitive, emotional and mischievous energy to the family while Ferrari gives us intensity, determination and ambition. 💨
By far the best dogs (by nature) I’ve owned…..and they are wicked smart 🤓
Grateful for another year with them and hoping for many many more! 💕

Remember Havoc? 🌪️
He has been adopted by a pilot ✈️ and is joining her crew with his new name, Maverick (from top gun).
Maverick is settling in nicely and LOVING his new lifestyle filled with coffee shop trips ☕️ , hiking 🥾 , runs and more.
I see a lot of ✨adventures in his future! We are so excited about this pairing and know Maverick will be the perfect co- pilot for his owner.
We will miss this sweet boy ❤️ but are excited to watch his new adventure begin.

🤝Introducing Lily 🌸
Lily is a 1️⃣ Year old French Bull Dog from 📍 St. Charles, Illinois.
This sweet girl is enrolled in the Advanced Obedience board and train. ✨
Lily is a very smart pup however she struggles with jumping, pulling, and defecating in the house. 🏠 She doesn’t have an obedience skill set which means she is a blank canvas and will have an amazing transformation.
Looking forward to watching Lily progress these next few weeks!

Shallah on his 2nd of 3 weeks of boarding! 🌟💕
This sweet boy is considered a “regular” and fits right into the back.
Shallah is a two time board and train graduate and is a super scholar 👩‍🏫
His owner keeps up with his homework 📚 and Shallah’s training is A1.
We have a dog here who is a little suspicious of fluffy dogs so Shallah is the “demo dog” 🐶 this month to help with the training.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fix this…..
I am a SUCKER for dogs. 🐶
I’m very happy with my pack, and am not looking to add a new member…… but somehow whenever I find a dog in need… the words “I can take him” somehow always end up coming out of my mouth 😂
While I initially turned this dog down, I eventually gave in…. And I’m so glad I did.

🌟 🌟 🌟 Meet Havoc 👋 👋👋
Havoc is a True Bi color, pure bred German shepherd who I’ve had for a couple months now.
He has completed a lot of obedience, manners, and learning how to be a house pet!
I honestly planned to train him, and eventually sell him to a good home…… but I ended up falling in love 😍
Although I can’t keep him, I decided that he had to go to someone I knew personally, and not a stranger. ❤️
He ended up going through an extra month of training, and UK9 donated cost and time so he could be available, free of charge, to a good home.
Havov will be leaving us soon to go to his home in Arizona ☀️ but I had to still introduce him here and add his photos to the UK9 Facebook diary.

🇺🇸❌Don’t make this 4th of July Mistake ❌🇺🇸

While family, friends, loud noises & warm weather ☀️ might seem like the ultimate socialization opportunity for your pup…..
there are a few things to keep in mind🧠

#1 Common mistake:

Firework shows!

- while it might seem like a great time to get the whole family together AND expose your pup to some new noises, it’s important to remember dogs have very sensitive ears! 💥

- The booming show of exploding lights that created awe and excitement for most people, can create an anxious situation for your pup. 🐶

- Our dogs have a sensitive sensory system. Without proper exposure in small increments, loud fireworks shows can create a panic response for your dog, creating new and lasting aversions to loud noises.

Being forced to sit and listen to repetitive booming leaves your dog with nothing else to do than analyze what is happening.

Even for dogs have exposure to loud noises, they’re not used to sitting and quietly in this environment with no other outlets.

Instead ✅ I recommend leaving your dog at home, in a safe space with a few activities such as bones and interactive toys to allow them to focus their mind on.

If your dog already has an aversion to thunderstorms ⛈️ or loud noises, I’d recommend putting them in a kennel or safe space where they cannot escape, with a variety of activities to choose from and some loudly playing music to help muffle the noise. It is important to not over expose these kinds of dogs, and also not reinforce their fear of these noises.

A massive overlooked aspect of dog training is PREVENTING problems from occurring. Setting your dog up for success this holiday can help them overcome negative associations and help create a better attitude towards these experiences in the future ❤️

The feedback I received on my last post was absolutely UNREAL 😭

Thank you to everyone who commented, called and messaged me. It was absolutely unexpected and brought me to tears 🥹

That being said:
- I am still ✨temporarily✨ closed so please be patient as my response times are currently very slow.
- I am working on building more systems and have some exciting things up my sleeve for the future.

Hello Unleashed K9 Clients! It’s been a minute so here is a BIG business update.

3 years ago, I bet everything on myself and decided to start a small business.

I set out to do something I had been passionate about since I was 7 years old. Training dogs. (Despite being allergic 😂)

No one ever warned me that a business could break your heart. Countless hours of blood, sweat, tears and sacrifice turned from triumph to heartbreak.

2023 was the year for expansion. I hired several trainers and put my faith into them to duplicate my training model and care for these dogs as I do. Unfortunately, I was left with a lot of broken trust, anxiety, disappointment and spent most of my days doing damage control.

They say don’t let a few bad apples ruin the whole tree, but I honestly realized no one will EVER care as much as I do about this business. The standard I’ve set for this training program is not something I will ever be willing to compromise.

That being said, I took some time off the end of last year. I took only a select few dogs for training and kept a close eye on the trainers I still had working.

Giving myself space allowed me to realize what I want most. Adding VALUE to people’s lives through dog training. While I am still extremely passionate about this industry, I need to be able to give my best to these dogs and owners.

This brings some changes for 2024:
- I will have a maximum of 2 dog capacity for training.
- Boarding will ONLY be offered to current clients and clients who have completed a board and train program.
- I will be the ONLY supervisor for dog care and training to ensure they meet our standard of excellence.
- Openings for board and trains will be exclusive and on a case by case basis.

I wholeheartedly believe I have formulated the BEST dog training system, and I believe with these changes it will only get better.

I truly appreciate all of the clients who came forward with any bad experiences they had with a UK9 trainer, and allowing the opportunity for ME to PERSONALLY give them the experience I strive for every family to have.

I absolutely love your dogs!
