Maggie's Mutts Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization created in memory of Maggie Bonefas. Our goal is to create a volunteer network focused on assisting animal rescue and shelters so they can better serve the animals in their care. We will also raise funds to grant to partner rescues and shelters.

As we are entering into the Holiday Season we are calling on the public to help us give back to our rescue community by donating used or unused blankets, sheets and towels. All of these donations will go to local animal rescue organizations just in time for Christmas to keep their animals cozy through the cold season.

We currently have two donation boxes set up. One is located at Kamp K-9 in Long Grove and the other is set up at Lake Forest Kennel Club. Please stop in to donate to help support our mission.
We plan on expanding the drop boxes to a couple of other locations so stay tuned for a location near you.

Thank you Kamp K-9 and Lake Forest Kennel Club for allowing us to use your space and supporting our mission! Another big thank you goes out to Brian Mathews at Uline in Kenosha for donating these giant boxes to us! We truly are so grateful for all of the support. And we know Maggie would be too! ❤️🐾

November is Adopt A Senior Pet Month!

Meet Moxie. Moxie is an approximately 8 year old, boxer mix. There is nothing more important to Moxie than being with people. She wants all the attention, love and belly rubs one can offer. Emphasis on the belly rubs! Moxie loves being outside and is always up for a walk. Moxie would do best in a home with a fence as she enjoys laying outside in the warm weather. Moxie will go in a crate and she is also okay being left out as well. She currently sleeps with her foster parents in bed. Moxie would do best with not being left alone for long lengths of time. She’s misses you too much when you’re gone. She’s a vocal girl that loves to alert you to people walking outside while she watches at the front door. Moxie has been good with kids, but isn’t particularly good at understand her power when she runs and plays. Because of this she will be best with older kids. Moxie is dog selective, but does have a few dog friends she gets along with. A meet and greet will take place with any potential dog siblings.

If you see something, say something.

UPDATE….he was found. He’s safe and sound.

Missing, we need your help.
On Sunday, November 2nd, at around 2:30 pm, our ambassador Aplomado Falcon flew off and we have not located him. We believe he is in the immediate area surrounding Springbrook Nature Center in Itasca, but there is a chance he may have flown further than that. He is a small falcon, larger than a robin, with an orange chest and belly and a gray head, wings, and back. He has a loud "kee" sounding call. He is wearing all his equipment, so he may be trailing a long white leash. He is a captive-bred non-native bird, and not able to hunt on his own, so it is important that he returns back to us.

If you see him, please call or text Beth at 312-583-7324 or call the Itasca Police non-emergency # 630-773-1004.

This is Izzy. Just a few weeks ago, she was found on the side of a highway, fragile and alone. 🥺 But a Good Samaritan stopped, scooped her up, and brought her to safety. She’s tiny in size, but her heart is mighty.

At 15-years-old, this brave Chihuahua has faced more than most. She’s battling several cardiac issues, a collapsing trachea, severe dental disease, and other age-related challenges - all of which need ongoing expert care so she can live out her golden years with comfort and joy.

Through it all, Izzy’s spirit remains unshakable, but she simply can’t get the care she needs without your help.

And here’s the truly exciting part… starting TODAY, a Hero Donor has offered a $100,000 matching gift! 🎉

That means every dollar you give will be doubled, helping Izzy and other senior pets get life-saving veterinary care, cozy beds and blankets, and the comfort of knowing they are deeply loved.

Give today and make TWICE the impact for Izzy and seniors just like her! ❤ (See comments for all the different ways you can choose to give).

Meet our featured pup of the week: Trinidad!

About Trinidad: My foster mom says I’m treat motivated, whatever that means. I love playing with stuffies, chasing a ball, running, zoomies with the big dogs in my foster home and cuddling on your lap. I’m a wiggle butt and I might make little humans nervous. I’ve never met a cat, but I’m a friendly guy and think it would be okay. I would love it if my forever family would take me to obedience training to help be a super pup. Stop searching and fill out the adoption form so I can fill your heart and home with all my love.
