My dog has separation anxiety...
Try...
I made dummy me out of old clothes last night as a friend for when I'm out. This morning, after I walked the dogs I rubbed my sweaty hoodie on it, gave it a sq**rt of my regular perfume, positioned it on the sofa in my lazy tv watching & snoozing pose and left.

They howled for less than five mins, went to sleep with the dummy, woke up when the neighbours children went out to school an hour later and had another little howl. After that Shannow has snuggled up with the fake me all day and slept mostly, no signs of anxiety and all the other have done the same!

MORE DOGS GET LOSTAND HIT BY CARS DURING 4th of JULY THAN ANY OTHER TIME OF THE YEAR!
Please do not take your dog to fireworks and if you do make darn sure that collar is tight!
Don't leave them outdoors while you are gone to see fireworks, they could get spooked and escape the yard!
If you leave, leave them inside, turn on music or the TV give them a den of some sort like a crate or Pull the couch away from the wall so they can hide behind it.
Help them be ok.
Fireworks are scary to dogs and cats too.

I totally agree... it sounds to me these people who can't see them on their fional journey were only there for the good times. If you live them the way you say you do/did, you put your feelings, emotions on hold until afterwards. Make them calm by telling them its ok for them to go... pet them before and during this difficult transition. If it was up to them, they wouldn't go... or take you with them.

Shaken vet reveals:
This is what pets do minutes before they fall asleep

Every pet owner has to deal with the idea that the beloved member of the family will most likely die before you. If you grew up with dogs or cats, you probably had to say goodbye several times.

This farewell doesn't get any easier with time. Most pet owners find it particularly bad to have to put their animal friends down.

Watching your four-legged friend die can make you sick. Nevertheless, pet owners should be strong in these moments - for the sake of animals.

Unfortunately not all master and wifey have the courage and strength to stay with their animals until their last breath. They're not there to make the transition easier and prefer to leave the vet work all by themselves.

Now a vet who wants to remain anonymous has decided to share his thoughts about this decision with the public.

The vet's message:
′′ As a pet owner, it's usually inevitable for your pet to die in front of you. So if you need to take your pet to the vet to bring them a worthy pain free end, I want y'all to know something.

You were THEIR TOTAL LIFE LONG at the heart of their world!!! Of your own life, they may have been just a small part, but to them you, their family, were all they knew. It's a crappy decision / day / time every time, it can't be denied, and it's upsetting for us humans to lose it. But please, I beg you, DON ' T LEAVE HER ALONE!

Don't let them commit the transition from life to death in a room full of strangers, in a place they can't stand. What most of y'all don't know is they LOOKING FOR YOU IF YOU LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!!

They search every face in the room for their loved ones. They don't understand why you left them behind when they were sick, scared, old or taken away by cancer and they needed your comfort.

Don't be a coward because you think it's just too hard for YOU. Imagine how they feel when you leave them in their most sensitive time. People like me are every time trying to comfort them, ease their anxiety and try to explain to them why you just couldn't stay.

From a tired vet with a broken heart."

Dog Bed Sizes:

Find the perfect dog bed for your four-legged friend.

Just like you, your dog feels better in day-to-day life when they sleep well. If you have been wondering what the best dog bed is for your large dog, your medium dog, or your small dog, keep reading to learn more about choosing the right dog bed size.

Things to Consider

When buying your furry friend their new bed, you will need to know their weight, length, age, and sleeping style. You should also consider if they have any special health conditions.

Measure Your Dog

The first step in choosing the right bed for your dog is to measure their length. Choosing the correct dog bed size will ensure they are getting enough support and that they have plenty of room to stretch out and get comfortable. To measure your dog, measure from the tip of their nose to the base of their tail while they are standing up on all four feet. Add roughly 6" – 12" to make sure they have plenty of space. This should be the length of your dog bed.

Measure your dog from shoulder to shoulder at their widest point. Add 6" – 12" to ensure they have enough space to move around. This should be the width of your dog bed.

Know Their Weight

Now that you have determined the length and width of your dog bed, it’s important to know how much your dog weighs. Many dog bed sizes are categorized by the dog's weight. However, be sure to check the measurements on the bed to ensure that your dog will be able to sleep comfortably. You can find this information in the Weights & Dimensions section on the product page.

Consider Age & Health

Your dog’s age and health will impact the size and style of bed you purchase. If they are older or if they have joint issues, you may want to get a bed that is a bit larger so they have plenty of space to stretch out and find a spot that is comfortable for them to sleep.

Recognize Their Sleeping Style

Another factor to consider is your dog’s sleeping style. If you have a smaller dog that loves to sprawl out when sleeping, you may want to consider a bigger bed. If you have a larger dog that loves to curl up in a tiny ball, you may want to get a smaller bed. It all depends on your dog's sleeping needs.

Sprawlers:Dogs who love to stretch in all directions are considered sprawlers. They like to use the entire surface of the bed and take up lots of room. Some dogs like to sleep sprawled out on their side, especially in warmer climates, because exposing their belly can help them cool off. The best beds for them are a rectangular pillow bed or a roomy pad.

Curlers: Curling up in a ball is a common sleeping style for most dogs, harkening back to their roots when they were wild and had pack mentality. They would curl up in a ball to conserve their body heat and protect themselves from any predators, hiding away their vulnerable organs. Dogs who love to fall asleep curled up may prefer a smaller, oval, round, or bolster bed.

Burrowers: Burrowers love to dig in and go under the covers. They like to make a cozy nest, creating that cave feel. You may notice that burrowers love to sleep with you in your bed, burrowing under your blankets. The best beds for them are hooded or domed dog beds.

Leaners: Leaners love to rest their heads against something and love the feeling of support, making bolster beds the perfect option for leaners. You can also opt for a dog sofa.
