We all love our pets and want to do our best to keep them healthy and happy. Here are some tips on keeping your pet healthy:
1) Pay attention to subtle behavior changes to understand what's normal and what's not.
2) Practice pet safety by keeping your pet away from toxic chemicals and using microchips and identification tags.
3) Exercise is just as important for pets as for people! Go for a daily walk, try a new class together, or build a fun cat perch.
4) Schedule annual wellness exams
5) Brushing your pet's teeth will keep your pet's mouth healthy, and oral health is a foundation of health!
In keeping with the theme of National Pet Dental Health Month, it's important to note that our gum health is important too! Pets are susceptible to tartar on their teeth, just like people. Once tartar begins to develop, it can lead to gum irritation. As gums become inflamed, they can pull away from the teeth, which creates pockets that trap more bacteria and food particles. Your pet's teeth can become loose and painful. This is why it's so important to have your pet's teeth checked by your vet regularly!
February is National Pet Dental Health Month! Just like humans, pets need to have their teeth professionally cleaned too!
I am so excited to share with you our Giving tree!
