Jules' Pet Food Pantry will be returning to Sable Kennel in the near future. We will be operating on a smaller, emergency assistance scale and we appreciate your patience while we regroup and restock, please refer to other local pet food help such as Agape Pets, Humane Animal Rescue, Animal Lifeline Pittsburgh , Animal Protectors, and The Braddock Free Store. We have one full box of donations for Jules' Pet Food Pantry so far! Thanks so much to our clients who have donated. The box is cleaned out waiting for additional donations. We plan on delivering everything the week before Christmas!

❄️ It’s that time of year again! This year, we are hosting a pet food & supplies drive for a local organization named Jules’ Pet Food Pantry.

This non-profit was created at the beginning of COVID to assist families with pets during financial crisis or other emergency situations, and are still helping families in need to this day!

They are located in McKeesport and service many local areas. Currently they are need in many common pet items such as food, treats, cat litter, medical equipment (ramps, wheelchairs, slings, etc), food bowls, grooming supplies, toys, beds, and clothes.
Our drive will begin now and end 12/21, right in time for the holidays!
We have a box located in our waiting room for donations.

See you all tomorrow for a distribution from 11 till supplies run out. Unfortunately we don’t have a lot of cat food this time. We have a change in how we will do things at our new location.. please park in back parking lot. At 11 start lining up at the door in back parking lot and we will allow everyone to come into the church and you will be handed what food you need and then you will leave out. BIG NEWS!!!!

WE HAVE OUR NEW SPACE!!!!

Everyone was heartbroken when our last distribution was cut short due to traffic issues. But before we could even begin to start looking for a new spot, Kelly Doyle and Mission: Agape reached out to us.

Agape was purchasing a new property for themselves and had room for one more! Kelly invited us to use a room at the church and we gratefully accepted!

We'll be moving our operations to the church and hopefully will have a date set for our next distribution very soon!

We are so incredibly thabkful for Kelly and Mission: Agape not only for their generosity and warmth, but for all the absolutely amazing things they do for the community every day!!! Check out their page!

Good afternoon,
We're getting a lot of the same types of messages and I cannot keep up or reply in a timely manner so I thought some answers to commonly asked questions may help.

1) We are not currently operating but hope to be soon in our new location. We do not currently have a date. Watch this page for updates. We recieve far too many messages to personally let you know when the next date is.

2) There are no requirements to recieve food/supplies. We hope that those who show up sincerly need the help. If you come take free food that you don't NEED when someone else surely does, shame on you.

3) We can no longer deliver. We are entirely volunteer run and frankly do not have the people or resources to be able to offer delivery at this time.
You may carpool! Someone else can pick up for you! You can take a bus! You can Uber!

4) We cannot guarantee/offer/supply specific brands of food. Everything we have to give is a donation. If you need a specific type of food (hamster, chicken, rabbit, guinea pig, etc) message us or comment on the distribution announcement post and we will do our best to get back to you.

5) Be appriciative! Too many people are messaging this page demanding things. That's not how this works. We're volunteer run and doing our best to help. This is not a business. This is not customer service. We are doing as much as we can do and demanding more of us is not only rude, its discouraging and unreasonable.

We hope to be moved into the new locations soon and have an update for our next date. In the mean time if you are in need of food before we are able to help, check other local food banks.

Good afternoon everyone,

First and foremost, we are SO very sorry that we were not able to have today's distribution for the full 2 hours! We are absolutely heartbroken, and having to close down and turn folks away was just gut wrenching. Folks were in tears and our volunteers cried right along with you.

That being said, we absolutely understand and respect that the police needed to prioritize traffic safety in their decision. While we are disappointed, we hold no ill will towards the police officers or the municiality that consistently backs up our Animal Control Officers and keeps us safe. Please keep any comments respectful. Disrespectful comments will be deleted. We NEVER expected the huge amount of people who lined up today. That volume has NEVER happened before and we were not prepared to deal with the traffic.

At this time, we have been offered a new location nearby that will be much more conducive to handling traffic and demand. We'll announce those details as soon as the owner of the property gives us the thumbs up to do so.

As of now, there is no date for another distribution but as always we are working on it and will update this page as soon as we have an update.

We're recieving a ton of messages from folks still needing help with pet food and we will do our best to help out. However, WE ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF DRY DOG AND CAT FOOD! Entirely. Not a single bag. We have a very limited amount to canned food. I will do my best to respond to the messages that are coming in but please be patient as we are all volunteers with limited time.

As a reminder, these distributions are meant for folks who are truly in need. If you can afford to buy your own food and are just looking to save a few bucks, these events are not for you. We currently have no registration/income requirements at this time and we want to keep it that way so please be honest and leave the food to those who truly need it.

Side note, if you cannot afford food, now is not the time to bring home a new pet......

Appointments available for low cost spay and neuter for kitties at Animal Friends!!!

Get them fixed now before kitten season!!!

Is your pet in need of a spay or neuter surgery? We have plenty of openings this week and throughout the rest of the month!

For owned cats, we offer a package for $70 that includes surgery, pain medication, an e-collar and a nail trim. Add on both vaccines (Rabies and FVRCP) for an additional $25! Please schedule online at ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org/SpayNeuter.

If you care for outdoor cats, we offer a feral package for $65 which includes surgery, pain medication, ear tip, rabies and FVRCP vaccines and flea treatment. Call our Clinic team at 412.847.7004 to schedule over the phone.

Betty White would have been 100 years old on January 17th. We'd like to make her proud by holding a Pet Food Distribution the day following her birthday.

Free food provided to familes in need for dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, hamsters, guinea pigs! Cat litter, cedar bedding, treats!
