Good boy in need

Sadly, this boys daddy passed away in their home last week. It was a couple days until someone found him. He was only 49 years old!! Tragic. This 5 year old boy named Bruno needs a home asap! He is well behaved. Has been well taken care of care of. He is good with other dogs, cats unknown. Good with kids from what I understand. He is pretty well trained they tell me. If you can help him, he would be very grateful. Please fill out a foster or adoption questionnaire found on our website. Bruno’s name will not be there since he is not technically in our rescue yet. We do not adopt outside the state of AZ. Thanks

UPDATE: Freedom Photos in comments. He is in rough shape. There is an issue too in walking on the right hind leg. Additional videos will published a little later. He is very very sweet. His medical care will likely cost more than the estimated $500. Please if able make a Donation of any size to help us with this Emaciated and sick boy.

This sweet boy was scheduled to die by San Antonio TX shelter euthanasia at 10 am this morning.

A Rottie Rescue, Inc. sent our Rescue Tag for hm, so instead he gets to live and come into Rescue with us this afternoon.

The transport costs from DFW to San Antonio TX as well as his initial vetting for the skin infection and whatever else he needs while in Rescue are estimated to be $500.00.

Please help us with these expenses if able, we so need the help with him, please.

‼️‼️‼️BANDIT IS URGENT DUE TO PLACEMENT‼️‼️‼️
Bandit is a 4yo fully-vetted, chipped, neutered male. He weighs about 100lbs. He knows sit, down, shake, kennel, recalls, and walks nicely on a leash. He is great in his kennel and he is potty trained. He is non reactive to strangers, joggers, bikes or vehicles while walking and parallel walks great with other dogs.

Bandit lost his foster home, and the rescue (foster-based) that is trying to help him has NOWHERE for him to go. He was in boarding for a short time, but he had the staff so scared of him that they could not take him out of his kennel. His foster mom went and picked him up and within 30 seconds of meeting him, she had him doing sits, downs and high fives through the door. She brought him home and have had no issues in the kennel there.
He is a resource guarder, but it’s manageable. He does not do well in a high-traffic home with people going in and out frequently, and needs time to get to know someone before he trusts them. He will absolutely take advantage of someone’s fear and exploit it, so a confident leader is a MUST, as well as someone who understands his limitations with strangers and resources.
He does okay at the vet with lots of reinforcement. He is muzzle trained and will come with his well-fitted Leerburg muzzle. He does get along with other dogs with a proper gradual introduction. He was overly interested in cats, so probably not a good addition to a cat household.
Bandit needs a rott savvy owner who can call his bluff when he gets big for his britches. Once you have some respect and a bond established with him, he is a great dog. He knows sit, down, shake, kennel, and he comes when he’s called. He understands “no”. He LOVESSSSSS to fetch. He’s highly food motivated and learns quickly, seems to enjoy training. Videos will be in the comments of him working with me and his foster mom on his interactions with strangers and him on a walk with another foster dog.

Needed foster to adopt or adopter for this cutie!

Angus is a beautiful boy with the most "squishable" face.

Angus is a strong pup with lots of energy.

He likes to play with another female pittie in the play area. Angus LOVES his kong with peanut butter & loves to chase balls.

He does like to do his own thing & check out his surroundings.

The evaluator found him to be a VERY pleasant dog, who can occupy himself easily with a Kong, or a tennis ball. When he was first let into the yard with her, he was walking well on a leash, tugging JUST a bit in his excitement to be out of the kennel. He ran straight to the evaluator in a friendly manner, did not jump on her at all, just smelled her a little bit, then went to find a ball and began to toss it around.

Angus accepted pets from the side, and from above. He let her look at his teeth, which were extremely white. We would put him at 1-1 1/2yr old range. He took treats gently as well. Angus is ambivalent to a lot of activity going on around him.

When other dogs in the shelter were being walked outside the fenced area we were in, he got up to see them if they approached the fence but with no aggression. One dog was fairly leash reactive & when he approached Angus & the fence, barking aggressively, Angus paid him no mind & went on about his business.

He expressed excitement to see a “friend” being walked, had lots of tail wags for him but didn’t bark.
He is an easy going fella.
Angus is a great rottie. Anyone with experience would do well with Angus. It’s unknown how he is with cats & kids since he has not been exposed to them at the shelter.
