We want to warn everyone in our community about a scam currently going around involving our cattery name. This scammer has been using my name for years but keeps changing name or opening new pages.

Today, someone reached out to me after being contacted by an individual claiming to be a breeder from Sweet Giants Maine C***s using the page Smith mainec**n kittens for adoption near me. This scammer was using my official TICA license number and my cattery name to appear legitimate. Thankfully, this person took the time to visit my website to verify the information and realized it was a scam. 🙏

⚠️ The scammer is:

Using a profile photo of another well-known breeder

Pretending to be affiliated with Sweet Giants

Offering kittens that are not real

We urge everyone to be extremely cautious when looking for a kitten online. Scammers are getting more sophisticated, and it’s important to protect yourself.

🛑 Red flags to watch out for:

Prices that seem too good to be true

Refusal to video chat or show the kitten live

Asking for money before providing real proof

No personal website or only using Facebook/Instagram

Avoids providing real references or TICA registration

Always verify a breeder's cattery name and location directly on the TICA website: https://tica.org

Visit the breeder’s official website and social media

Ask to speak on the phone or video chat

Trust your gut — if something feels off, it probably is
