Apple Acre Gypsy

Apple Acre Gypsy Our approach is to remain small and focused. Our choice is to not simply breed our girls, but breed well and wanted, with an eye to breed tradition.

As I have said on Proper Cobs in the US, I say here:

I believe in - A Reservoir of Established & Educated U.S. breeders dedicated to preserving the Gypsy Cob/Horse/Tinker/Vanner in its pure form and traditional standards. These are breeders active in a registry(ies), associations that educate the public, shows/expos/faires here or in the U.K., and/or have established breeding lineage here in the

United States. Yes, some of these horses will of course be imports, however the progeny and on-going breeding is here within the United States. Their horses can/should be judged as, against and classed as "Proper Cobs" and we keep in mind that no horse is *perfect*, however there are standards being upheld and change in the style of the breed is not advocated. These are also breeders that believe in respect to and education from the original breeders abroad who began and still today uphold the foundation of this breed. Though these are U.S. based, we do advocate keeping in touch with and learning from foundation breeders in the U.K. and Ireland and understanding the environment from which these unique horses sprang (i.e. history, lifestyle, faires, ideals). This is a difficult thing to discern, but it is endeavored to create a bond here on Facebook of U.S. breeders with full respect to Gypsy family breeders abroad who sometimes know this breed better than a lot of us. There is no arrogance here, only on-going learning and education to establish a Proper Cob home base here in the U.S. Baxtalo Drom to you all in your breeding! Our choice is to not simply breed Sorcha, but breed well and wanted! Though Sorcha, herself, is imported, there are now plenty of stateside bred Gypsy Cobs out there looking for homes and we simply do not want to add another. We are looking for you as much as you are looking for us! We strive to carry on a tradition begun by the Gypsies and Travellers hundreds of years ago across the “sea”, with much respect to the culture that brought us this wonderful breed. Though we now find ourselves promoting our new American fondness for the Gypsy breed and all its monikers (Cob, Vanner, Tinker), we travel to Appleby yearly to visit with our Gypsy friends and breeders, experience and remember the roots of our passion and love for theses horses and keep in touch with the heart of what it truly means to possess "Gypsy Gold".

I have been slow to post the announcement for Ginny, as you have already seen me tagged in perhaps. It's been hard to be so excited about such things when struggling with health and personal issues. But we ARE excited to say that our sweet Ginny will be going home soon in the next several weeks to her new mom, Kelly Hammer at Bella Vista Farms. Ginny is a completely precious soul devoted to humans and has unlimited potential for many aspects. It will be hard for all to say goodbyes and part with her and her amazing personality and watching her grow and explore. But it will be fantastic to watch her blossom further with Kelly and her family and even more fantastic to be fulfilling a dream of another Gypsy lover in the legacy I will be leaving this breed. We have produced slowly, carefully and small over the last decade and can say our babies have made it in to some of the most wonderful homes, thankfully. We are grateful for the love, care and training that has put a great supporting system in place for Ginny's future by Megan Kenney and McKenzie, and that it will be carried on through Kelly's endeavors.

Still available and Reduced to 13k *with foal*, Due in October so looking to move soon!

Brannagh - Ride/Drive/All around mare WITH FOAL

Current 2016 foal potential is to be a big thick proper Gypsy based on the lines and black based good chance bay, silver or combo. Helluva lineage here to boot. Please feel free share if you know a proper/recommended home potential and don't hesitate to PM to discuss smile emoticon I'm never insulted and gladly hold convos. Current foal chance - 50/50 Silver Bay/Black vs Bay/Black. Tested Negative PSSM

She is a lovely mare in foal to Capra, aka "Muse" - silver bay son of Sorcha (Business daughter) and Falcon (Raven son). Brannagh is a daughter to Clononeen Fionn mac Cumhaill, 5 Star & Gold Cup Futurity Stallion and son of The Paddy Horse. Bren drives, rides, does lessons with kids, has shown as a baby as well as adult (both kids and adults), parades, etc and is currently beginning Dressage, lifetime registered USDF/USEF. She herself stands 14.2 or so but baby should be bigger based on lineages. She ADORES her humans and is an extremely willing partner that loves to work. She and I are looking for a working home that likes to perform and be out there "doing stuff". She is a *beloved* mare who loves nuzzles and a complete "pocket pony" that I have known since a yearling and had from her breeder since about 2/3 - She is 10 years old this year. She's built lovely, an absolutely perfect head, short broad back, thick chest, apple rump and moves well at Dressage. She's a good image of her sire in a bit smaller height, though her dam was huge. She has had one previous filly by Son of Lloyd (pictured) and is due in October by an impressively conformed up and coming stallion, Muse (Silver Bay). This is a heartbreaker (I am retiring from the breed soon), so looking for a very well recommended home. Prefer a working partnership home rather than anything where she will be tossed as a brood mare...she is NOT a pasture muffin and prefers human companionship with a gusto. *Homes must have sources of recommendation and will be verified. She can go in foal or without. Foal may be spoken for, but not confirmed so without is fine too. 15k with foal now, 12k without. She is Ee and carries a oddball Sabino with a cute patch here and there, she'll bleach in the sun but blanketed/winter is jet black. I may have a full harness to go with her as well, have to check. I also have a 2016 silver filly for sale and a gorgeous 3/4 Hitch Wagon (both single shaft and pole). PM please to discuss. Foal chance - 50/50 Silver Bay/Black vs Bay/Black

Still available, open to best offers - ready to move it to a new home and use!

Feel free to share...Gorgeous 3/4 Hitch Wagon. Comes with both single hitch shafts and multi-hitch pole Roughly 70" tall, wheels are 54" -60" wide (with hubs perhaps) Poles could use a fresh paint, but in excellent used shape overall and the paint is a candy apple red with striping. Name decals should come off rather easy and leaven no marks, I never got around to it but tested it. Left lamp needs re-securing (screws) Perfect for Gypsies, small drafts, Haflingers, etc. Has been in storage (not heated, but covered and out of elements). I adore this cart, don't want to let this go, but not going to be using with changes in plans/horses. Cart is in Belton,TX. PM please to discuss, asking 3k

Moonshine is on a roll lately :-) here's for the mighty little Moon lovers again...

From Megan:
"Moonshine did her very first therapeutic lesson today to a brother and sister. The brother is Daelyns age and has autism. It can be difficult to convince him to ride but today he not only didn't want to get off, but he trotted without fear! Moon did great! I didn't get photos of the brother because I had to be in there with him so it was 2 on 1

But his sister Adeline rode after and I got photos of her 😊❤️"

THIS...is the best pic ever. *le sigh. Moonshine was a lesson pony today. ❤
