the Timber Lake class who i taugh my Hunkpapa Lakota Ledger artZ to this past week made a special trip up to Mclaughlin to check out my mural and i talked em through the process of how i do murals and the story and meanings behind it.
was a cold day out, so hada bundle up, jus glad it wasnt raining!
at this point i got 106 hrs into it and id say about 70% complete maybe...lol

so this past week Leksi was down in Timber Lake passing down his mystical Hunkpapa Lakota Ledger arts to the students. once everyone got the hang of drawin a ledger horse n rider, i had them draw there racer onto a long sheet of canvas. we ran outa time b4 the class was over so their gna work on it n finish inkn n coloring it for display!
last year we did a buffalo hunt and that is the last picture i posted and it was amazing to finally see the finished piece!
also there are 2 pics of a mural done by sum students that caught my eye as soon as i entered the building! i imediatly recognized the "Ledger Horse style" as sumn i taught the students from the past years!!! i was like Hell Yea when i seen that!!! Good Job! ;)

Spider season has come to the Pacific Northwest. I woke this morning to thick fog and spiderwebs in every tree and bush. Our friendly arachnoid family members were very busy last night. Spiders are in many stories. In these stories they are creators, weavers or tricksters. The spider symbolizes patience, creativity, and resourcefulness, they can also be healing and represent magic. Native American tribes also view this web as a metaphor for interconnectedness. When you look at a web, consider the hard work involved and its beauty
