A new student has joined my program and is riding my horse, Sue. They've started their adventure off strong by entering St.Paul Rodeo flag tryouts and will carry sponsor flags during the grand entry. See them in action on July 2nd, July 4th, and July 6th! I'm excited to see what's next for these two!

Here is a long-overdue update on what's been happening, part one! You'll see a few videos that I remembered to take of one of my students (with the family's permission, of course), showing their progress from their first few months of riding one of my horses, Foaly, to their most recent accomplishments. Although the videos don't do them justice, this combination has come a long way in terms of confidence, finding the rhythm, and competing in the recent OHSET season. They went from a 19-second barrel run at the beginning of the season to finishing strong with 17.5 at the end! Keep up the great work!

Did you know that horses go see the dentist!! Similar to us they would get their teeth floated to have a clean and healthy mouth! That means their teeth and mouth will get cleaned and free of any food that remains and then they will get all of their sharp points filed down to make their mouth more smooth and leveled making it easier and more comfortable to chew and to carry a bit! If you allow the tea to grow sharp edges then it would cause cuts, ulcers, and other injuries inside the mouth which would make it harder for the horse to chew their food which can lead to weight loss and possibly choking. It's important for us horse owners to maintain the horse's teeth so they can live long and healthy lives!😁

Ps,
Horses are sedated to protect them, the veterinarian, and handler😊

What a great way to start your day with a good warm up! One of my go-to's when it comes to starting horses under saddle!...

We accomplished a lot today!! With me being on her only four times and with today being our third ride together we are covering ground! She did great and I'm so happy with how today went! We perfected the side passing in-hand and we got forward motion, stops, turns, and backing in our ride today!! I love how soft she is already and how willing she is! She sure is turning into the perfect partner! I think I'm falling in love 😍

WE ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING TODAY!! WE OFFICIALLY HAD OUR FIRST RIDE!! Things got a little confusing and because of it and the new sensations that she doesn't really care about there was a tiny bop but she was still willing to move her feet!! SUCH A GREAT GIRL!

Thanks to my mom we got to take a few steps forward! Even though it was a few steps I can already tell that she's going to have a really smooth gate! I'm very excited to get her going and see how she turns out!!

Got on her for the first time and was able to get her to move her feet! This is the first time I asked her to turn and back up with me on her! Next stop moving forward! I'm so proud of her and how far she has come within a short time of me having her!

Here are some tips and tricks to help get your horse in the trailer! It's amazing how applying the back at the right time can make all the difference! Do this a few times and you'll get your horse loading like a pro with confidence!

I got Tranket loading and unloading nice and smooth like butter! She is such a quick learner and eager to please! With practicing loading (check out previous video) three times and just learned how to back out today, she did amazing!
