T-Minus 4 days until Dexter is in our arms!

This sweet boy goes in for his vet check and health certificate today and loads on transport Saturday morning arriving to us here at Noah’s Haven Saturday evening!

We have about all he will need here for his arrival.
Kennel, puppy food, bedding and toys.

We will begin the process of finding his forever family immediately so that he can start bonding!
Right now Dexter is about 10lbs and loves his puppy food. He has been very very well socialized.

Dexter spent the first portion of his life in a homeless camp and was purchased from a homeless man for $8 and surrendered to rescue.
We owe it to him to find him a family of his own and his last stop.

He is all puppy and so so smart.
Loves dogs big and small, perfect age to socialize with a cat as well. We are open to a large variety of types of families for adoptees for Dexter.

Meet Brooklyn.
A 9 month old German Shepard mix.
Brooklyn is kennel and potty trained and needs an active family and preferably another dog or 2 to pal around with.
Brooklyn currently lives in Salem and is getting spayed asap.

She is very very smart and so trainable. Good with kids and other dogs. Cats unknown.

Dexter needed a few things at his current CA foster until he arrives here in OR.
He needed a bed, harness chew toys and a leash.
He will see the vet next week for his health cert and vaccines to be started before travel. Any support we can get right now for him is so appreciated we have raised his transport funds and feed!

Welp! We couldn’t help it. But now we need your help!

$5 Friday is for Dexter!
We need to raise funds to support him through foster in California, transport up here, and foster up here.

We need to raise about $300 in funds to get Dexter all he needs.

UPDATE

INTAKE IS CLOSED FOR THE TIME BEING!

We are drowning in vetting debt, working on tax’s and honestly have no foster roster availability to house any canines at this time.

We have 1-2 puppy fosters available

Yamhill county is failing our community by not offering dog control and not adding it into our budget.
Rescue has no funds to help at this time.

We’ve been put through the wringer lately financially, with Boomers death and 3 adults in care and a new puppy the expenses add up quickly!

We are currently sitting at 5k in credit card vet debt and the interest is piling on.

This $5 Friday feels like a more plea for help.

A N N I E

Annie is a 17 week old pyraneese mix that was surrendered to rescue today from an accidental litter.

She is as sweet as pie and loves kids and affection so much.
She has a very docile and easy going personality. We’re giving her some time to settle in while we begin to search for her forever home.

Because of Annie’s breed she will have a delayed spay contract of 18-24 months this is not negotiable and will be held to the highest degree when we consider her adoption.
Breed experience and understanding will also be a factor in our adoption decision.

Annie will need a home to call hers. She warms up to dogs quickly and has shown no signs of aggression.
She is eating puppy kibble with added toppers.

So far her most favorite things are beef liver treats and sitting with my kiddos.

In my heart I think I always knew we were on borrowed time but I really thought maybe just maybe we’d get more of it. You are strong, courageous and fearless, you brought so much joy and laughter to our lives. The day you were brought into Guardian I promised you we’d give it all that we could and that is what we did. You made it through hills and valleys and I’m so insanely proud of you. This world was just not good enough for our tiny bucking bronco man. You deserved more. A life of no pain, no sickness, no medications and pokes. You are now free to run and play, to chase all the paper bags and chew on all the shoes you could ever desire. I’m so proud of you my mini pig. 3 months with you will never be enough but they are 3 months we will cherish forever. You’ve taken a piece of my heart with you to heaven.
Love you so big Boomy boy.

“Boomer Johnson Gibson” crossed the rainbow bridge this afternoon surrounded by so much love. He was showered in kisses and will be so forever missed. The neurological episodes, steroids, antibiotics and hydrocephalus were just too much for his tiny body to go through any longer. I am eternally grateful for the incredible staff at Guardian Veterinary Care for loving him like they did, Dr. Mohanraj and her husband for giving us respite and Dr. Lapinski for battling through all of this right along side Boomer and I, because of her unwavering support we were able to give Boomer so much life and then able give him the gift of peace.
We are going to be offline until Tuesday 4/15 while we process this loss.

Our Boomy boy spent the day at the vet hospital with me today.

He weighs 5.4lbs now.
He’s having some neurological episodes lately and today had some regurgitation episodes that cause a bit of stress for the both of us.

He will spend the day there tomorrow as well.

We have started him on antibiotics and anti nausea medication.

Happy news though is he is done with prednisone!!!
No more steroids as of now and no pustules in 4 weeks!

Boomer is starting to have so many normal puppy behaviors it’s so neat to watch.

Hoping to get over this next hurtle. 🫶🏻
