My latest project left the shop today. These two impressive bucks were found locked together and were eventually consumed by coyotes. One buck had to have the skull plate split in half to separate them. The bucks were found with the skulls in distorted positions. The owner made the decision to display them as shown so the two bucks could be viewed more clearly. The habitat base is made of walnut and has hedge posts for supporting the deer, barbed wire, and ground cover with a combination of artificial and natural vegetation. This base will sit on a supporting base equipped with wheels.

Recently completed, this is in the top 10 list of my favorite bucks. It's fortunate he was harvested early in the season as he might not have looked the same a month or two later.

Whether they're "booming" or flying, these birds are one of my favorites to work with. If you're fortunate enough to harvest one of these Greater Prairie Chicken's someday, you should consider putting it on the wall. If their habitat and numbers continue to decrease so may your opportunity to hunt them.
