Today was a hard day😭

I sprung Oliver about 8 years ago from AC. He was an owner surrender and said to be aggressive. I always take that with a grain of salt. He was definitely spicy and loved other animals and only certain humans, like 3🤣. Once I commit they're mine.

Because of his unpredictable behavior I couldn't adopt him out. Although he had plenty of offers, he was a cutie. He was a sanctuary dog. Which was fine. He lived life on his terms and I met him where he was at and respected his wishes. He was happy.

We had great walks, when he was in the mood and scritches and cuddles on his terms always. He loved talking back, sun bathing and napping with his favorite stuffy and blanket.

I loved him and all of him. He was a force to be reckoned with. Each of these beautiful souls teaches me something always. Oliver lived life to the fullest, on his terms. I am grateful I was chosen to be his "mom".

We are located near MCRAE GA.

I am absolutely heartbroken that I can't get adopters, foster to adopt or fosters for our beautiful kids🥺. I can't get out and about people for the day either. I can't get any trainers to respond or help while dogs are waiting to make sure they stay adoptable and socialized and I can't get community engagement. I understand we aren't a large rescue or "well known" like some, but I am doing my best to help the animal community, for being small with limited resources I am proud of the sweet kids we have saved. How is the rescue supposed to survive with no support or help? Why will no one help? Why is there no interest in adopting/fostering? They just continue to sit here, while pleas for help are non stop.
Everyone wants the help, wants the dog saved, wants us to take their dog or puppies, but then no one is willing to help, foster or adopt. This combination equals no space to be of help to anyone. This is my reality.
It's absolutely heartbreaking for the dogs in my care. I don't know what else to do. I feel like I have failed them at this point, it's upsetting. They deserve more than this. Then do I keep the rescue open? Do I do a sanctuary, it looks like they may be with me forever. Even then you need community support. This is how/why rescues go under. Right now they're going under like crazy. This is what keeps me awake at night. What do I do? What is best for these beautiful pups in my care? Do I wave the white flag at this point, while I continue to exhaust myself in all areas to include financially.

For right now, I continue to have faith that there is still some hope.

Angel/ no interest/over 3 yrs in rescue

Sh**un/no interest/over 1 yr in rescue

Pheonix/8 months homeless at a halfway house and now 2 months in rescue

All adoption fees are sponsored
All fully vetted
Training(4 weeks basic, you and the dog together) after 3 months of bonding and once adopted, shout out to Off Leash for always doing incredible work with our adopters.

***Fosters desperately needed!

🩷🐾 Our last cutie patootie is Pheonix. She had been abandoned at a halfway house and lived there outside for 8 months. She originally came from Clayton County Animal Control and adopted out by a rescue that is now shut down. The family no longer wants her and here she now sits with me. It baffles me because she is amazing.

She is pure joy. Young at around 2yrs old. She is up to date on everything and is going through HW treatment. Her last shots are at the end of this month.

This cutie is good with all people, kids and dogs male/female. She is super social! Absolutely loves all toys, walks and loves, loves, loves the water. No bad reactions to cats. We can test, if needed. She is perfect!

*** Fosters desperately needed!

🩵🐾 Our next sweet kid is Sh**un. Sh**un was an owner surrender. He was very loved and very spoiled. A landlord decided he must go. It was heartbreaking for all. Now this beautiful, sweet boy has been living the kennel and rescue life for 1yr and 2 months waiting on someone to fall head over heals for him.

***HUSKY LOVERS***

🐾Sh**un is a beautiful, young, playful, husky mix. If you adore huskies, their sass, their playful behavior Sh**un is your man. He is always down for anything including water activities!

Sh**un is hit and miss with male dogs, but absolutely loves, loves, loves, the ladies! He is very playful and social. Sh**un will be two years old this month and weighs aprox 60lbs, he is also very leggy! He also has the best ears ever.
