This mare is by the great rope stallion Hyers Blaze San ("JR"). JR was extremely athletic and was an exceptional head and heel horse, who also had the mind to babysit the Hyers' grandkids. He passed those qualities onto this nice mare, Hyers King Princess ("Sarai").

Sarai's dam is by a California-bred race stallion, Simplyit, who is by Chicks Beduino to add some speed to her roping sire.

Sarai is in foal to a blue roan son of The Goodbye Lane, The Goodbye Blues. I met this stallion in person, and he was both stunning and well mannered. This should be an exceptional cross for a user friendly all-around horse that would excel at barrels, roping, and more. Baby should mature to about 15.2/3 hands.

Sauce Monster had her ONE wolf tooth pulled today. We went in to have a hematoma drained (she got kicked or got it when she slipped on the ice), but it magically cleared over the last couple days, so we got her teeth done instead to make sure she was comfortable when we start her training. 💙

It's been a while, but she's here, she's huge and turning 2 this year! Her birthday isn't until May, but she's wearing a 72" (183cm) blanket! She's loves the snow and is enjoying our largest pasture with Dyna, Louie and Bodie. 💙❄️

Meet Honey 💛

These photos are six weeks apart - yes, that's the same horse! Honey is one of the 25 rescue horses we agreed to foster at the beginning of September, and she's found a home here. (She's looking like she's a bay, afterall. 🤣) She is pregnant and was dropped at the killpen with many scars and open wounds. She is learning to trust Zak and I, and she'll even let Zak pet her cheeks while she eats out of the bucket.

I'm hoping she'll hold off until spring to have her baby! We'll keep you posted, but until then, please keep Honey girl in your thoughts.

Do you love her? So did we. Welcome #1 to the family. This little filly will be picked up tomorrow from the killpen.

We also committed to helping in big, big way. The Zillah feedlot is closing and the horses had very limited time to find homes. So, with the help of many far and wide,, everyone is coming home with us tomorrow while we get travel documents in order. Stay tuned!

Morning zoomies! 🐎💨

And just like that, it's Sauce Monster Monday! This week, Saucy made friends with the 8-9 month old mini gypsy vanner, Jewels, seen here in the video. I wish I would've videoed yesterday's play session - it was full of bucking and tag and racing. Saucy is feeling much better. She's been running hot laps in her stall, bucking, rearing and neighing whenever someone is riding in the arena. She's also taken to biting and learned that mama slaps hard. My bicep has a lovely deep purple and blue bruise. In the words of Austin Powers' Number Two, "[s]he bites. [S]he's a biter."

It's Sauce Monster Monday! Excuse my goofy commentary. This video was from last week. We're really starting to see her fire and personality! Saucy also got her feet done for the first time yesterday and I am proud to report that the farrier is still alive and willing to come back.
