Thank you to St. Francis Family Farm these incredible babies! Out of 8 eggs, 6 hatched which is incredible for wintertime!

High possibility this breed will be added to next year's breed list 😍

Fairly confident I can let this young guy go (hoping i don't regret it later) 😆 Black Copper Marans

$10 (paid much more than this for him as a day old chick). He is from another local breeder who has good, dark egg lines! 16/17 weeks old.

I finally took some time and got pictures of this years Black Copper Marans!

"Atlas" (pictured) will lead my pair of hens, and Rango (not pictured) will father a seperate coop of BCM chicks, so hopefully we will have better luck than last year hatching these beautiful birds! 🐣.

Both of this years roos are SO docile and sweet, taking excellent care of their ladies!

We only have the 1 dozen available as of now, but will have lots and lots more in a few weeks once we get some more daylight hours!

For those of you who are pre-planners like me:

The Waitlist for 2025 chicks will post on February 8th at 9am, with hatch dates starting in March (assuming everyone is back into the swing of laying/fertilizing eggs!)

*As a reminder: a $20 deposit is required to hold a spot on the waitlist, otherwise I will have whatever chicks are leftover on a FCFS basis every week!

anyone need a roo??

Bielefelder is pure and probably could be used for breeding in a pinch, but is the lowest quality visual wise of the ones we grew out. He isn't mean but did bite once when being moved coops (out of fear), never had any aggression issues other than that once instance. he is ~6 months old now

🥳🥳HAPPY (ALMOST) 2025!🥳🥳 While I was bummed the move to Florida didn't work out, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't majorly excited to be here for another hatching season!!

Here's a preview of things to come!

1- We will offer day old chicks ONLY again this year. purebred hatching eggs will be available only if we have an over abundance that we cant fit in the incubator on any given week, and they will be FCFS only. (note- Barnyard mix hatching eggs are available all season long!)

2- Pricing:

Straight Run (gender unknown):
White Bresse- $12/ea
Swedish Flower Hen- $14/ea
Black Copper Marans: $12/ea
Zombies: $11/ea
Barnevelders: $12/ea

Sexed:
Crele Legbar- $14 pullet / $7 cockerel
Bielefelder- $14 pullet / $7 cockerel
Olive Eggers- $11 pullet / $5 cockerel

Eating eggs: $5/doz
Barnyard mix hatching eggs (NOT purebreds): $12/doz
Purebred hatching eggs: $50/doz
Elector PSP: $15 for 9ml (makes 1 gal of solution)

3- We decided to offer a waitlist again this year since that seems to be what works best for most people. DUE TO THE AMOUT OF CANCELLATIONS/NO SHOWS, WE WILL BE REQUIRING A $20 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT TO GET ON THE WAITLIST (this will come out of your total price when you pick up your chicks!)

*Waitlist will likely be posted on or around February 8th, with hatch dates starting March 1st, 2025!

4- Pickups will be a little more limited time/date wise as I don't have as much flexibility as I have previous years. I expect to be available for customer pickups as follows:

Monday-Friday: 3-4pm
Saturday/Sunday: anytime (depending on when the chicks hatch and are ready to go, usually the best pickup times for them are Sundays between 12-5pm)

**NOTE- prior arrangement MUST be made before you come by, and PLEASE show up promptly at your agreed upon time, if you're running a couple minutes late, that's totally fine but I cant spend an hour waiting around for people to show up (you'd be surprised how often this happens😔. We will always be respectful of your time, so please have the same courtesy!)

5- And last but not least: We are always here to answer your questions!! While my schedule is a little more limited this year, you are always welcome to send a message with questions and we will reply as fast as we can! 🐥🐣

a good reminder since a lot of us have to buy store eggs during the winters! Pasture raised is the only way to go! I will never buy anything other than that, even though they are expensive 😪

my buddy 'Houdini' has a PSA!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PROTECT YOURSELVES!

There is an INSANE number of fake farm pages out there scamming people for money, promising just about every kind of farm animal/puppy you can imagine.

To the untrained eye they can be hard to spot because most of the time you are talking to a real person, but thats the only thing real about the transaction.

Red flags to keep an eye out for:

-the seller uses broken/bad english

-The page is new but has thousands of followers (most of which are profiles from overseas)

- The page has changed names multiple times

-You see angry face emojis on some/all of their pictures (these are people that have been blocked from commenting and this is the only way they are able to communicate to the public that the page is a scam)

-The seller asks for your phone number to "verify" that YOU are a real person, and they will ask you to read a code back that they text you (DO NOT DO IT!)

-They say they only ship birds and do not offer in-person pickup (they may even go as far as to give you an address if you ask, but still have every excuse as to why you cant pick up in person)
**one thing you can do to protect yourself is ask for their NPIP number since legally you have to be certified to ship birds, and cross reference that on the database to see if it's legit

-CHECK THE PICTURES THEY SEND YOU ON GOOGLE IMAGES! Usually they will send pics of immaculate looking birds/animals in pristine enclosures, etc. these are always pics stolen from someone else or AI generated. if you click and drag the pic into Google you can find out where the picture came from or if its posted anywhere else.

-They ask for payment via cashapp or PayPal friends and family (these payment methods assure you can NOT get your money back!) and after you send it they ask for more money for vaccines or "shipping insurance"

IF IT SEEMS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY IS!

Stick to local breeders or ask a breeder you know personally on recommendations where to buy online (chances are most of us have had birds shipped in before from reputable companies!).
