Conneaut Lake Veterinary Hospital, Inc. We are a full service companion animal hospital offering wellness, diagnostics, boarding, and surgery. Dr. Wendi Waid began her career here at C.L.V.H.

The doctors and medical care team at Conneaut Lake Veterinary Hospital, Inc. love their own pets and they know that you love your pets, too! in 1990 when she began to expand the companion animal portion of our practice. After 4 years, she worked as a relief veterinary and regional manager for a veterinary relief service. When she returned to C.L.V.H. (her home) in 1996 - as part owner - she brough

t with her a wealth of knowledge from being exposed to many different treatments and practices. Dr. Rebecca Stanton wanted to follow in her father's footsteps and become a veterinarian. When she was 7 years old she asked her father (Dr. Allan Stanton), if she could come help with the animals and she began cleaning the kennels. In August of 2008 her dream came true as she returned to her home here at C.L.V.H. practicing veterinary medicine.

Sweet little Luca came to us with a tibial fracture (a broken leg). He has been wearing a splint to stabilize his leg as it heals.
This treatment takes weeks of healing time, as well as, a lot of effort on the owners behalf to limit activity, keep the brace clean, and close monitoring. Luca and his owners are going a great job! Luca got a new splint while here( because he is growing so fast!) and truly was the PERFECT patient for us! We hope you feel better soon Luca!

Cleo is getting her blood pressure taken at her recheck appointment.

In this picture you can see Amber and Paige using a blood pressure cuff on her leg, which is inflated to temporarily stop blood flow, and a Doppler probe with ultrasound gel is held over an artery in the paw. The cuff is then slowly deflated, and the point at which the pulsing sound of blood flow returns is the systolic blood pressure. The process is repeated multiple times to get an average reading.

We try to do this reading as soon as your cats appointment starts, the goal being to keep them calm as possible to get an accurate reading.

We check this in every feline patient, as high blood pressure can be the first sign of other health issues.

Koda came in for reoccurring ear infections. Jessica and Dr. Waid gave them a good cleaning and sent him home with medication and a customized treatment regimen. He was a happy camper to get all the "gunk" out of his ears. He enjoyed the ear massage from Jessica, as you can tell in the "after" photo.

Milly came in today for an ear recheck. They still had some debris present so we gave them a good cleaning! This gentle restraint kept her head straight while Paige gave them a good wipe out with our Epiklean ear cleaner. You can see what the debris looked like on the gauze squares. Is she not the cutest beagle!? She loved her ear cleaning and was so relaxed she started to fall asleep!

(ear infections are very common, especially in the summer! Call us if you have concerns about your pet's ears)
