Trick or Treat!!! Halloween is a time for goodies. Caramel apples, pumpkin donuts, chocolates, and candy corn make for a delicious holiday. It is well known that chocolate can be toxic for our furry friends, but sugary candy can also pose risks for toxicity. Too much sugar can cause stomach upset, excessive thirst, and in severe cases electrolyte changes. If your concerned about a tasty treat your pet has consumed, please reach out to your local DVM or the ASPCA animal poison control for further help.

Feline Fact Friday - Do you know why STRAW is best for outdoor cat shelters?

It's starting to cool down, so now is a great time to clean out those winter cat shelters. Make sure to completely empty the shelter of old straw and give the shelter a good wipe down.

‼️Remember - STRAW IS FOR STRAYS, HAY IS FOR HORSES

Please remember to ONLY USE STRAW. If a damp/wet cat goes into a shelter with a cat bed, towels, blankets, or hay, moisture is retained in those materials, which actually makes the cat colder.

Straw repels moisture and retains the cat's body temperature, keeping the cat dry and warm.

Thank you for keeping the community cats dry and warm in these cooler months.

"I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watching Me"

I posted a pic of Cuban yesterday and mentioned him being a gymnast. His mom sent me a video, so if you doubted that little guy doing a handstand, here is your proof!

Sadie and Beau always put a smile on my face. ❤️ They're jumping to their favorite song.

(Sound on) Some of you may have seen this, but it's so cute that I have to share it again. I miss this little cat.

😍 "Bang!" Today was my first day with this guy. He's so sweet and smart. ❤️

Ares is a cute boy who I take for walks. He is giant, but gentle, and he loves frozen green beans and blueberries.

Sadie and Beau love chasing the ball. Some dogs give you the ball and some run with it, but Beau spits the ball out. 😆 He also burps like a man. It's hilarious because it just doesn't look right coming out of his mouth. Watch for him to spit the ball out at me. It's about the 5 second mark in the video. *After posting this I found out Beau's mom and dad taught him to "flip" the ball. He's smarter than me. I thought he was spitting the ball at me. 😂

Pet of the Day: ❤️ This sweet boy is Baxter. He's a little hard to get out of bed, but once he's up, he's so happy. It wasn't 100° yet, so we enjoyed being outside.

I've been keeping an eye on Nightingale because she had surgery to repair her ACL. She can't chase the ball until she heals, so for now I'm just rolling the ball into her cone. Her sweet brother Oliver knows she has limitations and is being very careful. He is the most gentle dog and looks after his human, canine, and feline family. ❤️
