Meet Merry! Merry is a silly dog who loves to play! She has so much fun just running in circles with people and playing "tag." She enjoys fetch, playing tug of war, and keeping herself occupied with toys. Merry grunts for attention if you aren't giving her enough and she has her own little "oink" sound she makes when she's sniffing around. Her tail wags so hard that her entire backside wiggles with joy! When she's played all of her energy off, she plops down right in front of you and loves being scratched.

Everyone say “Hello, Jess!” 👋🏼 Jess is a 2 year old cat full of love and adventure. She loves to climb and jump, whether it’s between shelves or cat towers! Her favorite toy is a little red mouse that she plays with for hours. Jess can be a little shy at first, but once you show her love and patience she opens right up. Come visit her down at Paws4ever!

Olivia was actually Lucy's foster, taking care of her and her needs for a long time. She was filled with joy when Lucy got adopted!

Fosters for our adoptable pets are extremely important! They help our animals by giving them a real home to live in while they wait to be adopted, they are able to spend more time with the pet to learn about their behaviors and individually tend to their needs, and more. Happy Christmas Eve! We've had a - LUCY HAS BEEN ADOPTED JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS! 😻🎄 This sweet cat has been with us for 446 days, persevering though health challenges with a smile on her face everyday. She has been in and out of foster and held patience in her heart while waiting for her forever home to find her. Today is the day her new life starts ❤

Henry, Doug, Alvin, and Goose want you to know that you are more than welcome to stop by and visit them during the holidays ❤ We will be open limited hours on Christmas Day and New Years Day for volunteers and the public. All other days we will keep our normal hours, 9am-5pm. Our resale store will be closed the day after Christmas, December 26. We wish everyone and their furry friends a happy holiday!

Our adoption fees normally range from $120-$200. These prices are to ensure that we are able to run our adoption center and provide quality care for our animals. The individualized care we provide for each pet includes:
-Veterinary screening
-Behavior screening
-Spay/neuter surgery
-Microchip
-Dog/Cat Vaccinations up to date, including rabies
-Deworming
-Heartworm test for dogs over 6 months
-FIV/FeLV test for cats and kittens
-Flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives up to date
-1-month free pet insurance trial
-Follow-up calls and support
-A free private training lesson for dogs

Charlie's on a adventure 😱 Thanks to our new partnership with Feeders Pet Supply of Chapel Hill, Charlie now lives in their shop! She has a wonderful staff to tend to her while she waits for her forever home. Thank you Feeders for giving Charlie a brand new environment where hopefully she will meet an adopter!

Moe recently had a wonderful December Doggie Day Out! Let's hear about his day:

"Moe and I had an adventurous and sweet day hiking and exploring local natural areas. We started at the panther branch natural area trails and added a stop at Cates Farm Park. I wasn't ready to return him after one stop! From the moment I picked up Moe he was an excellent passenger and very calm in the back seat of my car. He enjoyed a deer antler I gave him to chew on, and putting his nose to the cracked window.
When we arrived at the trails, I immediately noticed how excellent of a "walker" he is-- he is led very easily with a leash and did not pull me at all. He is also very smart and seemed to respond and perk up to his name when called! A cute quirk about him was that during the walk, he would occasionally (very politely) look at me to request a treat. One time I even got him to sit by leading his nose with the treat!
Moe was a little unsure of me at first, and showed some signs of anxiety when encountering new situations, but he really blossomed while we were on the trails. He might need some TLC to show him that people are safe and can be trusted, but he has all the makings for being an excellent dog for someone with a little love. He blossomed so much in our few hours together, I can only imagine how he would do in a forever home!"

It’s truly heartwarming to be able to support our community in this way, ensuring that both people and their pets have access to the food and supplies they need. Goose recently had an awesome Doggie Day Out - sleepover edition! He had so much fun walking the trails of the Eno River, visiting shops, and playing at home with the awesome volunteer that spent time with him. Goose absolutely loves the outdoors and exploring nature. We are so happy to see Goose out-and-about getting some quality time in a real home.
