Sasha is the BEST momma to her four sweet puppies, very attentive and is great with her foster handling her pups.
Sasha is approximately 5 years old, sweet, loving, loyal lady who will be looking for her happy, forever home once she's finished nursing and raising her pups.
Sasha is an amazing girl who knows basic commands including paw, housebroken, crate trained, loves attention from her humans and would make the perfect cuddle buddy, walking partner or just hanging out spending the days with. Someone is going to be very lucky to have Sasha in their life.

THANK YOU AGAIN to everyone who DONATED and SHARED my post to raise funds to purchase 70 Kiddie Pools to help out the dogs in the summer heat.
As you can see, they're going to great use. Not only does it cool them down but provides some play time and stress relief from being in the shelter environment.
Thank you again, Kim - Pets in Need in Southern Maryland

Moxi PUPDATE:
From her foster: She’s doing so good! She is a playful little thing! Her meds finished this morning. She had her second bath today. I can’t believe how much better she is looking & so quickly. Her hair is starting to grow back in the areas that were inflamed. Her eye is even looking better than it did.
She also LOVES her crate.
Moxi will soon be going to one of our vets for a consult since she has completed her meds. Please stay tuned for her progress and new journey.
Thank you! Kim

RAMBO is letting everyone know that his check-up went well.
From his fabulous foster family: He still has some fluid in that elbow. They are leaving his stitches in for another week. I told the vet about that back leg. Next week he is coming up for a drop off/sedate. They will get some pelvic xrays, remove the stitches and drain off fluid from the elbow if needed. But overall, he is doing great! They all know him by name and are always so happy to see him
We're definitely in DIRE need of monetary funds for our sweet boy, Rambo to help him fully recover from his injuries he received before 3 months of age.
If you can help, even a few dollars, I will be so very grateful. WE NEED YOUR HELP to continue helping the many in need.
Thank you, Kim

COURTESY POST - Ryder needs a new home and trying to avoid surrendering to our FULL shelters, which too many are not making it out.
Ryder — 1.5 year old male - black lab:Newfoundland mix. Neutered, shots up to date.
He needs home with fenced in yard and older children. No cats, as he is prey driven. Adopter with previous larger breed experience would be best. He is a lover, but does not realize his size and can be rough. He is housetrained, has good recall and knows basic commands.
For more information please email: [email protected]

What we thought was an anal prolapse ended up being a growth. The vet was able to remove the mass completely and it was benign! So that was good news! He also had bilateral entropion which was corrected. They did also take care of his neuter, rabies, etc., so he is adoption ready as far as medical goes, other than suture removal!
Tank is a very sweet boy, but after being in the shelter for over a month, and after everything he has been through, he is starting to show some undesirable behaviors. The other day, when one of our kennel attendants had him out in the play yard, Tank decided it would be fun to use the kennel attendant’s clothes as a game of tug of war. It seemed to be pent up energy and over stimulation, rather than aggression, but we still don’t want to chance him hurting anyone. Hopefully, he will do much better once he is in a home environment with someone that can help him use his energy in a positive way! Check out this video of Tank having a blast in our play yard -
. Due to Tanks behavior and the need for his sutures to be removed, he will need to be pulled by rescue by the close of business on Saturday, July 29th. I hope that if we all work together, Tank can finally find his forever hom
Rocky
Meet Rocky who will be getting Xrays this friday to see what exactly is going on with his hind end. We already know he endured a broken tail during his short 5 months of life so we're hoping it's not something too serious. Please send some positive vibes to our little whipper snapper and we'll be sure to keep everyone posted.
Rocky is currently residing with a Pets In Need foster family...
Ozzie and Sarah
Another fabulous adoption story for two bullies from Tri County Animal Shelter.
Meet Ozzie (formerly Tip) and Sarah both adopted through Pets In Need In Southern Maryland from TCAS.. They were adopted about six months apart and both went through the Two Week Shutdown which helps transition them in a slow, calm manner from shelter to home environment. Works every time.
Our Stella
Oh Miss Stella (gray and white) I'm so proud of you and all you have accomplished... Thank you Happy Active Dog for helping our girl become even more fabulous.
Meet Nakoa
Nakoa means brave or warrior in Hawaiian and this little guy has definitely earned the name for being such a brave boy going from homelessness to shelter quarantine to foster home.
Nakoa a brindle piddle puppy who's approximately three months old and will be fully vetted and chipped once he's feeling better from kennel cough and able to have surgery. Have no fear he's in great hands and already feeling much better since taking his meds and soaking up tons of lovin...
We are now accepting adoption application and would like a home with a fenced yard (no electrical) and older children would be best. He loves everyone he meets but a meet & greet would be required if potential adopter has other dogs. His best buddy in his foster home is Pocus the cat.
He's also crate and house trained, learning basic commands, leash walking and how to be a respectable puppy in his foster home. We're looking for a home that will be 100% dedicated to the needs and training of a new puppy in the home.

Our Amazing Tucker
Meet Tucker who's currently looking for a home of his own.
Tucker is an amazing boy at 15 months of age, weighting in at 43 lbs. who just completed 17 days of Board and Train at Happy Active Dog and is doing FABULOUS!!!!.
He is neutered, UTD on vaccines and micro-chipped. Tucker is a sweet boy that loves attention and loves to play and cuddle.
Tucker is perfect walking on a leash and listens very well to commands and is an all around great boy. However we feel a home without cats is best.
