A huge thank-you to Pat and McKenzie! 🎄✨

Our volunteers showed up in full holiday spirit and helped make the Ashland Parade a success this Sunday. We pulled together a fun, last-minute mini float, and their teamwork and energy made it all come together.

We would have loved to bring the horses this year, but circumstances didn’t allow for it. We’re already planning and looking forward to having them with us next year! 🐴❤️

🌾 Volunteer Shoutout! 🌾

We want to give a huge thank-you to the incredible volunteers Joe, Nick, Adam, Wayne, Sandy, Lizzy and James who came out last Sunday to lend a hand around the farm! 💪

Over time as the ground got compacted, rain had caused a pool of water to develop in the run-through area — and thanks to this hardworking crew, it’s finally fixed! Dry footing is essential for preventing hoof issues and keeping our horses healthy as they continue partnering with those we serve. 🐴💦

They also helped us clean out the hay barn in preparation for 78 round bales coming in for the winter season. ❄️

Your time, energy, and heart make a world of difference for both our horses and the people we serve. 💛

💡 Exciting News!
Mended Sparrow, Inc. is honored to be a proud recipient of a $4,445 Power of Change grant from (REC)!

Over 60 applications were submitted, and 33 incredible organizations were selected for this round of funding. This grant will go directly toward building a permanent toilet facility in our barn, improving accessibility and comfort for all who visit our farm—especially the service members, veterans, first responders, and families we serve. 🚿🐴

This opportunity is made possible through the generosity of REC member-owners who round up their electric bills through The Power of Change program. Together, their contributions help the CARE Charity award grants to nonprofits like ours—making a real difference across our communities.

🎉 Our Obstacle Course Fundraiser Was a Hit! 🎉

💫 Big Boy Moments with Dad 💫
Today, Sparrow’s Orion took on a brand-new challenge — the noodle obstacle! 🟣🟡🟢

At first, he wasn’t so sure about those colorful noodles, but what made the moment even more special was seeing how naturally Leonidas (Dad) stepped in to help. It was as if he understood exactly what was needed, staying close by to guide and encourage Orion through each step. Moments like these remind us just how much our horses get it — and how deeply they show up when we’re working together. ❤️🐴

A heartfelt thank you to Mark and Melissa Hagerman for their full sponsorship of Orion. Their support helps us continue his care and development as he grows and learns from the relationships within his herd — the foundation of every future EAL horse. 🌾✨

✨ Leatherwork Without Limits ✨

This past week we had the honor of teaching a leather belt-making class for a group of veteran women from the VA Medical Center with visual impairments. Starting with a side of hide, each woman cut, punched, and crafted her own belt from beginning to end.

The beauty of this event was in seeing focus, skill, and craftsmanship come alive—showing that when determination meets opportunity, the results are limitless.

As Henry Ford once said: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t—you’re right.”
