Let me give you all an update on what's happening to dog businesses in hanover county. My supervisor does not answer emails or return calls. The same supervisor is Pawsitively Purr-Fect Pet Sitting & Boarding, LLC supervisor. They are basically saying that we cannot do our business out of our homes. They want us to move into a commercial space, which is not what our businesses are about. If we had to move into a commercial space, our businesses would then have to become large operations, just like all of the corporate ones that people don't like. Not to mention, even if we have to move, THERE ARE NO SPACES IN HANOVER COINTY FOR OUR BUSINESSES. so, essentially, they are shutting us down, taking our jobs and our livelihood with no other options. This is NOT fair to us or our clients. They make us pay $750 to the county to apply for a special exception (on our A1 agricultural land), just to be denied. Something has to be done about this. I will NOT give up. This is an uneven playing field. Both of our businesses have so much support (thank you from the bottom of our hearts). Jacki Melton and I encourage you to reach out to your supervisors and tell them that they need to allow us to keep our businesses exactly where they are and how the community will fight back with us because you value us and need us.
