Well after nearly 3 months of Jo’s stall being empty, I’m finally ready to put another horse in it. It’s funny, I just couldn’t put anyone in it. I would always see her face there and knew nobody could ever take her place ❤️ Nobody ever will, but my sweet Stuart will be moving in. Mostly cause it’s cooler in the barn than my outer stalls, and it’s going to be 115 this weekend🥵

Just wanted to share that I am proud of my horses and to thank them for making me a stronger person🐎 I arrived at the Gold n’ Grand in not the best emotional state. Losing Jo was still very fresh. I thought I was okay but I really wasn’t. I didn’t have the best of runs on my boys Friday. I cried, I was upset, I felt defeated and weak. I thought, I’ll just pack up and go home tomorrow, I’m not having fun. I got up Saturday, it had poured rain all night and was cold and wet, but I felt better. I decided I’d stay and show. Each day I got better and my horses got better, amazing how that works. I didn’t have perfect runs by any means, but I stayed. I ended up overall champion in the select trail on Oscar🏆

I guess the moral of the story is even when the going gets tough, keep on going. There will be brighter days ahead, and if you quit you’ll never know what you might have achieved🩷

Champions aren't built on the days they feel motivated, but the days they feel like quitting.
