Saving Train: SoHumane rescues animals from shelters where they have already been marked for death. These are healthy, adoptable animals who have been overlooked and have run out of time at overcrowded public facilities. Senior Pets: We know that senior animals (those seven years of age and older) are among the first to be euthanized in many shelters that have an abundant supply of young energetic pets. Medical Needs: By addressing treatable medical conditions, we remove one of the biggest barriers to adoption and increase the number of animals who find new homes. Executive Director - Karen Evans

Happy is an adorable 2-month-old puppy with a bright, curious personality and a whole lot of growing to do. True to her name, she brings joy wherever she goes and is ready to begin her journey toward becoming a wonderful lifelong companion.
Like all puppies, Happy will need patience, consistency, and positive training as she learns basic manners, house training, and leash skills. Since she is still very young, her adult size is unknown, but regardless of her final size, she will benefit from ongoing training, socialization, and regular, age-appropriate exercise to help her grow into a confident, well-adjusted adult.
If you’re ready for the commitment and rewards of puppyhood, Happy would love to meet you and start her next chapter with a loving family.
If you have room in your home and in your heart, please consider adoption.
Thanks, and please share this post so that we can keep finding homes for ALL the fur-babies.

Meet Triscuit!
Triscuit is an 8-month-old sweetheart with a tender soul and a whole lot of love to give. At first, she might seem a little shy, but once she warms up to you, her spunky, playful personality comes out to play! She’s great on leash and enjoys her walks, but her favorite thing in the world is curling up in your lap for cuddles — especially after a fun play session. Whether you’re watching TV or just relaxing at home, Triscuit would adore being right by your side, soaking up the love. 💛
You can meet Triscuit at SoHumane, located at 2910 Table Rock Rd, Medford, OR 97501. The adoption center is open 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday through Sunday (closed Mondays).

This holiday season, our dogs aren’t wishing for toys or treats — they’re wishing for something much simpler and far more meaningful.
A warm couch. A familiar voice. A safe place where they can finally belong and say, “I’m home.”
If you’re looking for your next companion, we invite you to visit SoHumane and meet the dogs who are still waiting for their Christmas miracle — a family to call their own.
Adopt this season. Give the gift that lasts a lifetime. ❤️🐾
Bo is a super affectionate, people-loving pup who is happiest when he’s close to his people. At about 1 year and 3 months old, he still has some fun puppy energy and loves to play, but he also enjoys soaking up attention and companionship.
Bo gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playtime and social interactions. He also does great on car rides, making him an excellent road trip or adventure buddy for someone who loves to get out and explore.
If you’re looking for a friendly, loving dog with a playful spirit and a heart full of loyalty, Bo could be a wonderful match.
If you have room in your home and in your heart, please consider adoption.

SoHumane is a registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of companion animals in Medford, Oregon, and beyond. Mae Richardson founded the Humane Society of Jackson County in 1928 as an all-volunteer organization that initially provided services for displaced dogs and horses.
Today, SoHumane, a no-kill shelter, provides quality care for dogs and cats while working to make a difference in the pet overpopulation problem. Annually, SoHumane serves 1,400 companion animals on average. In 2018, we successfully adopted out 1,548 animals, spayed or neutered over 700 animals, and saved over 800 animals from euthanasia at other shelters through the “Saving Train” program.
Our strategic areas of focus are to provide shelter and adoption services for displaced pets while reducing pet overpopulation through spay/neutering. SoHumane provides humane education opportunities for people of all ages throughout the community. Additionally, we currently educate more than 1,000 children in our local schools each year via programs that foster compassion for all living things.
We believe every animal — no matter their age — deserves a second chance.
Medical Needs: By addressing treatable medical conditions, we remove one of the biggest barriers to adoption and increase the number of animals who find new homes.
