I started with three weeks to complete this gown and now I’m down to seven days. I have such respect for all the designers on project runway. That is quite a time crunch. Being a wife, a mama and a business owner and juggling all those in the midst of making sure I have everything all prepped and ready for my runway show is definitely stretching me. But in a good way. I feel confident that this look will be finished for my runway short. However, I really wanted to create an over skirt and I just don’t think I will have enough time for that. I have loved creating this gown not just because it’s beautiful, but because the bride that I was given the privilege of working with. I truly love what I do, and I love creating custom pieces for my individual Brides, but when this lovely bride came to me and told me the story of wanting to honor her Grandmother and incorporate her in her wedding gown I absolutely was 100% on board. She told me that she wanted to incorporate pearls all over her gown as a representation of her relationship with her grandma because her grandmother‘s nickname for her was Pearl. Doing special projects like this make what I do even more fulfilling. This truly was such an honor to make this gown and I am so excited to show you how beautiful that it came out.
