Here is a pup’s first time in our Puppy Pre-School! Look at him learning to navigate his body, being brave, tolerating sounds, learning to be okay with things touching his face and learning that following his handler’s direction is worth it - all while creating a bond that will last a lifetime! Puppy training is so much more than just playing and learning sit!
Grand Opening!! #grandopening #puppytraining #dogtraining #bosslady
Join us today for our Grand Opening!! We will start the day off with our now regularly scheduled classes from 10-12pm. Afterward, our doors are open to walk-in dogs and people (if you come without your pup, be sure to stop by a little before 12:00 to see a group class!) to check out the training center, ask questions, and just come say hi! But come by prior to watch our classes and truly see what our classes look like.
We are so excited for this next step! Hope to see you there!
This all could not be done without all of your support and positivity throughout this process. Of course a huge thank you to my family, especially my Dad.
Tip: Best place to park is by Firebird Grille, go in main mall entrance, go to fountain and make a left.

Teaching and conditioning an collar
This is Noah! He has been training with us and now we have started introducing the ecollar. We always are FAIR to the dog when introducing the ecollar and we use our knowledge of various forms of reinforcement (negative and postive) to teach it. Let me briefly explain.
First, we teach a marker word - a word that signals that positive reinforcement (in Noah's case, food and praise) is about to be delivered. This must be taught - dogs don’t understand English - but with continued training the marker word alone will be reinforcing! This means you do not need a treat every time forever, just in the beginning stages. Then, we teach leash pressure and teach him how to stop that uncomfortable feeling of tension when at the end of the leash = negative reinforcement. Once he gets that, we add the ecollar and use it at his lowest level. This uses negative reinforcement too. Then we put it all together, so Noah feels this new sensation from the ecollar, but because we taught him the other skills he has no problem understanding what to do. He is happy and engaged! We always must be FAIR to our dogs and pay our dogs! This little clip is Noah's first time being introduced to the ecollar and look how happy and engaged he is with his owners!
We individualize our training and use whatever tools are needed for the specific dog and owners. We use various methods to teach your dog what to do with guidance and ensure we are delivering some reinforcement so the behaviors we want to see happen again! Isn't that why people go to get their dog trained?

GREAT session with DARCY today! We packed A LOT into one lesson! Impulse control, door manners, leash manners, and heel with direction changes and pace changes!
This excitable girl has always had a tendency to barge in and out of doors ahead of her owners. Today we taught her to wait until her owner tells her it’s okay to go, and she did AMAZING!
Also, pulling on leash was a regular part of Darcy’s day. Today we started teaching her to be more attentive to the human at the end of the leash. Watch for her abrupt decrease in speed toward the end in response to her owner’s command. You can actually hear her owner laugh in amazement because he was so surprised how well his dog did with the brand new concept!
Great work. DARCY!!

Meet FRANKLIN! He’s the dog on the left in the video. This wonderful pup has been training with one of our trainers since he was just 3 months old! Today, he met one of our demo dogs, Stout, for the first time. Franklin is an excitable 8 month old dog, but when his owner asked for a “down” on the front lawn, he resisted the urge to play with his new friend and maintained his position beautifully! That’s solid obedience!
Meet ROSIE! When we met her, she could have PULLED her entire family at the end of the leash to come greet us. She had some serious power and her owners wanted all of their family members, including their parents, to be able to walk her safely. So we not only taught her a solid heel command, but we have also taught Rosie what it means to walk nicely on a loose leash when she is free from command, so that even a visiting relative who isn’t familiar with all of her commands can easily walk her. She has come so far and we are so proud of the progress she has made in such a short time. Her owners and our trainers have done amazing work with her. Way to go, Rosie!
Every dog deserves to be trained!

Google just started training with us. Her owners described challenges with them having people over, as she gets too excited to see guests. Take a look at how we teach her to appropriately greet guests in one lesson! She is under 1 year old and her training journey has just started. Check back for more updates on her progress!
