🐶 Join us on September 13th to Treat Your Pup! Saint Rocco's Treats will let your pup try samples to find their favorite flavor and the Cawfee truck will be back with their fall menu, plus pup cups!

🐾 Volunteers are needed for our Fall Clean-Up on October 4th! We will be picking up litter, trimming the trails, filling in holes, etc. An online sign up sheet will be coming soon. Stay tuned!

If you are visiting Freedom Barks Dog Park today, please be aware that multiple road closures will be in effect between 8am-11am for a 5k/10k. The race starts at the Medford Police Station across from Freedom Park and the route includes Allen Avenue (which leads to the Gill Rd parking lot).

Thank you to our friends at Char and Whiskers and Lower Forge Brewery for hosting our third Paint Your Pet party on Saturday!
We also want to thank everyone who attended. All of the pet portraits looked amazing! In addition, each ticket included a $10 donation toward the maintenance of Freedom Barks Dog Park. 🐶🐾 We will be looking at dates for another Paint Your Pet event later this Fall- stay tuned!

🖌️ All supplies, including aprons, will be provided by Char and Whiskers. No painting experience is required!
🐾Before this event, your canvas will be prepared with an outline of your pet.
🐕During this 3-hour class, each painter will receive step-by-step guidance to create a custom portrait of their beloved pet.
🍻 Relax and get creative in a cozy atmosphere- with the option to enjoy tasty craft brews. Bottled sodas are available too.
🐶 The ticket price includes a $10 donation to Freedom Barks, Inc. in support of the maintenance of Freedom Barks Dog Park.

Last week we reached our 1,000 pound goal which means we have earned our 4th free TREX bench for the dog park! 🎉

Many thanks to all who supported us along the way; including Medford's Environmental Affairs Advisory Committee/Green Team, Lower Forge Brewery, Love Thy Nature Refillery , A Wild Bird Oasis, Binkley's 5 & 10, and Medford's Senior Center.

We hope everyone will keep up the great work to support Medford's Scout Troop 26 as they collect another 1,000 pounds to earn Medford's 11th free TREX bench.

❗PARK CLOSURE STARTING AT 4PM ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 5th ❗ATTENTION: We have just been informed by Medford Township that Freedom Barks Dog Park (and the rest of Freedom Park) will be closed at 4pm on Tuesday, August 5th for Medford Police Department's National Night Out event. Please see below for more information:

Schedule & Closures:

4:00 PM – Main Entrance Closure
The main entrance to Freedom Park will close at 4:00 PM to begin event setup.

4:00 PM – Parking Lot & Field Access
We will utilize the main parking lot and the large main field (from the monuments to the entrance roadway) starting at 4:00 PM.

4:00 PM – Dog Park Closure
Due to helicopter activity again this year, we will be blocking the western entrances to the dog park during setup. We plan to close the Dog Park at 4:00 PM for safety.

Entrances to be Blocked:
The two entrances shown on the attached map will be closed at 4:00 PM.
Gill Road access may remain open, but we cannot guarantee all visitors will exit before the event begins—therefore, 4:00 PM remains the recommended closure time.

Re-Opening:
Per Township ordinance, the park closes at dusk. Our event will continue until 9:00 PM, and normal public access will resume on Wednesday, August 6.

❗FREEDOM BARKS DOG PARK IS OPEN ❗

Thank you to our volunteers from Freedom Barks, Inc. who spent almost 1.5 hours cleaning up the firework debris in Squirrel Field.

We did our best to make sure the majority of the debris was removed.

For the safety of all park pups, please continue to keep an eye out, especially in the area of Squirrel Field marked on the map below. If you happen to come across any additional debris please use an extra doggie bag and throw it away.

❗REMINDER❗ALL AREAS OF FREEDOM PARK, INCLUDING FREEDOM BARKS DOG PARK, WILL BE CLOSED:

-ALL DAY TOMORROW, JULY 2nd for event/firework set-up.
-THROUGH THE MORNING OF JULY 3rd for clean-up of all firework debris from the launch site in Squirrel Field.

We are also including a few helpful tips for keeping your pets comfortable and safe during this time of year! 🐶🐾

ATTENTION, FREEDOM BARKERS: Medford's fireworks display is scheduled for July 2nd with a rain date on July 3rd.

Freedom Barks Dog Park will be affected by the following closures because the fireworks are launched from Squirrel Field:

-Wednesday, July 2nd: All areas of Freedom Park, including Freedom Barks Dog Park, will be CLOSED ALL DAY for event and firework set up.

-Thursday, July 3rd: All areas of Freedom Park, including Freedom Barks Dog Park, will remain CLOSED THROUGH THE MORNING until Township inspections confirm all fireworks debris has been removed from the launch site in Squirrel Field.

Important note: if this event is postponed due to inclement weather, these closures will take place all day July 3rd & the morning of July 4th.
