Hi! My name is Beau and I am looking for a forever home. I was dumped at a high-kill shelter by my previous owners where I immediately ended up on something bad called "the list" (as an owner surrender at this particular shelter, I learned us type of dogs don't get a chance at adoption). Fortunately for me, a volunteer with a small local rescue came by the same day and saw me scared and shaking in my kennel and said she would take me, too; she then contacted BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes! I look kind of like a small lab with the really short legs of a dachshund (so maybe I'm a "dachs-a-dore"!). I am only about 2 years old so past all of that puppy foolishness, and at just about 32lbs I will fit just about anywhere. I love getting attention from folks; have gotten along with the other dogs I have met; but I'm not too sure about those things called cats so a home without them would be best. I love my food and treats which I take gently. I'm pretty good on leash with just a little bit of pulling when I see something interesting I want to check out. While I would much prefer to be out and about with you, I have been good in a crate without any accidents or tearing up of any bedding (if I see one of those things called cats while in my crate I will bark at it). An online sign up sheet will be available soon, so stay tuned for that! We have a lot of items on our to-do list and with more volunteers present, we are able to spread out and cover more ground.

FYI- Access to Gill Road is restricted until 3pm due to construction on Allen Avenue. If you will be spending time at the dog park this morning or afternoon, please plan on parking at Freedom Park. 🐶🐾

ON FRIDAY AUGUST 14TH, ALLEN AVENUE WILL BE CLOSED FROM MAIN STREET TO UNION STREET DUE TO ROAD CONSTRUCTION FROM THE HOURS OF 8:00AM TO 3:00PM. LOCAL TRAFFIC WITHIN THIS AREA WILL HAVE ACCESS THROUGH THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE.

On July 31st, we reached our 1,000 pound goal which means we have earned our 3rd free TREX bench for the dog park! 🎉 Many thanks to all who supported us along the way; including Medford's Environmental Affairs Advisory Committee, Lower Forge Brewery, Love Thy Nature Refillery , and Medford's Senior Center. Plus, local businesses like the Evergreen Dairy Bar who are saving their ice bags for Wanda Johnson's Pet Services to pick up.

We hope everyone will keep up the great work to support Medford's Scout Troop 26 as they collect another 1,000 pounds to earn Medford's 8th free TREX bench!

❗We have been advised by Township of Medford, New Jersey that Freedom Barks Dog Park will be CLOSED on Tuesday, August 6th, starting at 5pm. During Medford Township Police Department's National Night Out event, four helicopters will be landing in the open field beyond the playground that leads to the dog park.

❗ It has been brought to our attention that around 1pm yesterday afternoon, 2 cars were broken into in the Gill Road parking lot.

If you were in the area around that time and saw anything suspicious, please report it to the Medford Township Police Department at 609-267-8300 or via their confidential tip line at 609-714-0302.

We also want to remind everyone to remove valuables from your car; or put them in your trunk before leaving home. Stay alert and report anything suspicious!

We are super excited to announce we are only 81 pounds away from earning our 3rd free TREX park bench.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support this initiative. Keep up the great work! After our goal is reached, Medford's Environmental Affairs Advisory Committee will partner with another local organization to continue working towards the 8th free TREX bench for Medford.

Don't forget- if you are still unsure if an item will be accepted, TREX recommends trying this test: See if the package will stretch when you pull it. If yes, it can be included. However, if it tears like paper, then please don’t turn it in.

Thank you to our volunteers from Freedom Barks, Inc. who spent almost 2 hours raking and picking up firework debris, including 3 flares, that were scattered all across the launch site inside of Squirrel Field.

We did our best to make sure the majority of the debris was removed. For the safety of all park pups, please continue to keep an eye out, especially, in the area between the Main Entrance gate and small A-frame (marked on the map below). If you happen to come across any additional debris please use an extra doggie bag and throw it away. 🐶🐾

❗ PARK CLOSURE UPDATE: We have been informed by Medford Township Officials that all of Freedom Barks Dog Park will remain closed until 12pm on July 4th. In order to prepare for and clean up after the fireworks that are launched from Squirrel Field.

DON'T FORGET! Freedom Barks Dog Park (and the rest of Freedom Park) will be CLOSED ALL DAY TOMORROW to prepare for Medford's fireworks display.

Since the fireworks are launched from Squirrel Field, that area will remain closed on the morning of July 4th until a final inspection has been performed to ensure the safety of our park pups.
Once we have confirmed the area is clear of all debris, we will post an update on Facebook and Instagram. 🐶🐾

Lower Forge Brewery will be donating 10% of the proceeds from all Yappy Hour sales to BCAA.
