🚨 HEAT STROKE WARNING FOR DOGS 🚨

With the recent record high temps we’ve been having, the risk of life-threatening heat stroke in dogs has been on the rise!

If it’s 75° or hotter, especially with humidity, pavement temperatures can burn paws and dogs can overheat FAST — even on short walks.

⚠️ Watch for these symptoms:
- Excessive panting or drooling
- Wobbly walking or collapse
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Bright red or pale gums
- Lethargy or unresponsiveness

If you see ANY of these, head to the ER IMMEDIATELY. Time matters!
💧 Always walk during cooler hours
🌳 Choose grass or shaded areas
🚘 NEVER leave dogs in hot cars - even for a minute

🚨 Bird Flu🚨
Important info for our pet parents in New Jersey
We want to alert our community about recent avian influenza (bird flu) activity detected in New Jersey. While this virus primarily affects wild birds, cats—especially those who spend time outdoors—may be at risk of exposure through contact with infected birds or contaminated environments.
🛑 Please note:
➡️ At this time, we have seen no cases in dogs at the hospital
➡️ However, cats can become infected, and we want you to be aware of potential symptoms.

🐱 What to watch for in cats:
Lethargy or unusual tiredness/fever
Neurologic signs (e.g., disorientation, tremors, or seizures)
Upper respiratory illness (sneezing, nasal discharge, difficulty breathing)

✅ How to help protect your pets:
Keep cats indoors whenever possible.
Prevent any contact with wild birds.
Reach out to us immediately if you notice any of the above symptoms.

🚨 FOUND CAT 🚨
This super sweet and friendly boy was found last night on Delsea Drive in Vineland after being hit by a car. He’s a young male (around 1 yr old), intact, and wearing a collar that says “Hakuna Matata”. Sadly, he has a fractured jaw and is currently getting medical attention at Blue Pearl in Philadelphia. There’s no microchip, so we have no way of tracing his owner. If this is your cat, or if you know who he belongs to, please reach out ASAP. He’s a total sweetheart and we want to get him the help he needs and back home. ❤️ 🐾
