TNR is not easy.. especially when you’re trapping in Camden and find friendly cats that are not fixed or looking pregnant. What can you do when everywhere is full and no one responds to your help request.
This is the 2nd cat in the past 2 weeks that showed up at a feeding spot and seems friendly. Every other cat there has been fixed so where did these come from you ask yourself? Well people let their cats out!! 🙀
They let feeders give them food and trappers fix them!
Could this be what’s happening here?
Today this poor cat went to clinic to be spayed. In recovery she started to have labored breathing, when checked her gums are pale white and her body temperature was only 93… 😿
The Techs gave her oxygen & got heating pads & placed them around her to try & warm her to bring her temp up.
Unfortunately she was spayed late so when I arrived for pick up time she was not ready, neither was my other cat. I asked was she ok and then was told she was having difficulty’s. The clinic manager called me to say it didn’t look good for her. My heart sunk… 💔
I asked to go in to see her and they took me to her. I spoke with the Techs there and called our vet at Evesham Vet. After being on hold while the Techs reached out to the surgery Vet who couldn’t come back. I asked if I could bring her to see Dr Bell. He was doing surgery but said I can bring her over. We wrapped her in warm towels with a heated rice sock and I left clinic.
By time I got to Evesham I didn’t know if she was alive..
The Tech took me right into a room and thank God (cus I prayed the whole way there) she was still breathing, her temp was up to 98 but she was still pale. 🙏🏻
Another vet came in and examined her, ask the Tech to start an IV and gave her fluids then checked her stomach with a quick ultrasound to make sure she wasn’t bleeding internally. The Tech tried to draw a lil blood for test and that woke her right up and got her mad. 😿 This was a good response to the IV fluid and helped her become more alert.
We decided to keep her there for fluid treatment and I just called to check on her, she is up looking around and can go home. The Vet said earlier she may be able to go home tonight if she’s responding. 🙏🏻
That means I have to hold her till her gums go back to pink and she’s feeling better.
So no TNR for her, now what? I can not take in another cat I have no room and Chester is still here.
Plus now I have a vet bill that needs to be paid tonight.
Please help me and this poor cat that didn’t ask to have this happen to her.
Donate from your heart for lil miss Puss. 🐈‍⬛❤️

I’ve been working on trapping in a 4 block length of the same street. This morning I got a call from the mom cats feeder that she bought her kittens to his porch. I ran over with carriers but mom jumped up into the ceiling & the kittens scattered. I was able to grab this cutie. 😻
She is a torti with green eyes about 6 weeks old, eating on her own.
There are 4 more to get then get mom & fix her.
These kittens will need a place to go.
Anyone that can help please contact me.
Update: The feeder was able to get 3 Torti female kittens in the carrier. One of the kittens had a closed eye. I treated it and she’s looking better.
Then he got mom cat in a carrier. I caught the big fluffy boy last. This family is all together now. Mom cat going to clinic tomorrow.
The best news is a friends rescue agreed to take these adorable kittens… 😻❤️🙏🏻🐈‍⬛

It’s been a very busy past week trapping. 😥🐈🐈‍⬛
I got the 2 siblings of the lil gray kitten, then yesterday got their mom.
I caught 2 at the colony I’m feeding that only show up occasionally. A buff & a fluffy brown tabby, both females, they got fixed yesterday.
Then I was helping my friends at PCC and went to pick up a donation but after talking to another neighbor I discovered kittens!! 🐱 🙀
Didn’t plan on trapping at that moment but it turned into I better get them now while they’re out looking for food with momma. I trapped all 5 kittens, tried for mom but she had eaten at the first neighbors house I had gone to but I got her yesterday. 😻
While I was there the other night I was told of a hurt cat that the side of his face looks bloody but he only comes at night. So last night I went and walked around calling for him & shaking a dry food container like a crazy cat lady.. lol 😂 It worked cus he showed up, I set the trap with some smelly salmon and he went right in. He was pi**ed to be trapped but now he’ll be getting the medical help he needs thanks to my friend Jackie at Pennsauken Community Cats which is a TNR group for that city. 😻🐈🐈‍⬛❤️
There is another mom cat we have the neighbor trying to trap today who they had her kittens in the shed but let them go after AC tried to charge them $400.
So they need to be found.
Also a brown tabby mom cat might have kittens across the road.. ugh it needs to end… 🙀😩😡
Please donate to help me & PCC get these kitties the care they need and FIXED!!

Todays catch is a wee lil kitten.. 😻🐈‍⬛
This kitten is from a neighborhood I’m working on trapping. I was told the mom (gray tabby) had 3 kittens and that they come to the women’s porch to eat. Today when I drove passed I saw 1 of the kittens. When I got out of my car to take a picture the mom cat came running over and the kitten ran down the side of the house into the lot but then stopped & laid down. I grabbed a lil wet food & put some on a piece of cardboard for the mom on the porch & did the same for the kitten on the side.
I had a kitten trap already set in my car cus I was trying for the last kitten in another area so I put the trap out and this kitten went in. 😻🐈‍⬛🪤
I knocked at the home to let the older women know that I caught 1 of them so she knows where it went. I’ll have to try another day for the others. I looked around in the lot but couldn’t find them.
I went back to my car to try and ask if anyone can take it in and may have a rescue friend that can help. 😻❤️🙏🏻
Please help rescues by fostering and supporting what we do. We can’t do this without you! 🫵🏻
Once I have confirmation I can share where to send donations. Thank you

Todays catch was a poor lil kitty (I named Wendy after Casper the ghost friend) with a collar around her neck & caught under her arm digging into her skin.. 😿💔🐈‍⬛
My friends at Pennsauken Community Cats got a notice on their Fb page, when I saw it, I offered to go catch the cat. When I arrived at the house she was on the porch inside a cat house with 2 exits. I walked up and she started to growl. I set a dish down & showed her I was putting wet food out for her and held it to her nose for a second. I set the trap and put the dish of food in it. I walked away so she can feel comfortable coming out since she didn’t know me. She wasn’t coming out at first so I started to get the 2nd trap ready so I can put them both against the openings but I turned and she was starting to go in the trap. Within a few minutes she was caught and jumping around in the trap. She got scared and banged her head and got a cut.. 😿 I ran over and covered her to calm her down, then got her into my car and headed to our vet.
By the time I got to the vet she was less scared and allowed me to touch her through the trap.
I’m sure she knew she was getting help to finally get that tight strap off her that was cutting her skin. The pain she must have been in was heartbreaking. 💔🐈‍⬛
The vet gave her a mild sedative and within minutes she was falling asleep. It was kind of funny when the vet stuck her with the needle she meowed and it sounded like she said ouww (like ouch without the ch at end)
The vet tech and I laughed & heard it sound the same. 😂
The collar was cut off and she had to p*el the buckle off her chest where fur was stuck to it.
We checked her belly with US for kittens or fluid cus it was squishy and saw she has a lot of stool. 💩
This collar was wrapped around her arm for quite a while. You can see by the picture when they shaved the fur away from the cut how big the area is and the infection and dead skin will need to be removed and sutures put in to close it. Since Dr Bell was already busy in surgery he wanted her to stay overnight and get the antibiotic injection and anti inflammatory / pain medication started so he could do her surgeries tomorrow. She will also be spayed while under anesthesia for the wound care, vaccinated and microchipped.
Someone must have had her and put that collar on to loose but what happened after that is a mystery..
Please pray for this poor kitty’s healing and surgery to go well. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
This unexpected expense will need to be covered for our friends at Pennsauken Community Cats (which is a TNR group).
Please donate from your heart to cover her vet bill. Their venmo link is below but if you need to send a donation another way I can post mine and transfer it to PCC.

Chester needs a home. 🐈🏠😻🙏🏻
Please help this handsome 1 eye boy find his furrever home.
He is just 1 yrs old, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, no fleas. Gets along with other cats.
He’s playful and loving, gives lil love nips by just putting his teeth on your hand, no claws out either. So we recommend no small children till he grows out of that kind of play.

Yep a big part of trapping is cleaning the traps.

Yep a big part of trapping is cleaning the traps.

Why is cleaning your trap in between different cats important❓

DISEASE PREVENTION: Cats can carry and transmit various bacteria, viruses, and parasites. Thoroughly cleaning the trap after each use helps prevent the spread of diseases among the cats. You can use a diluted bleach solution or Rescue disinfectant. We also like to use vinegar to neutralize the scent. This minimizes the chances of cross-contamination between different cats, especially since feral cats might not have robust immune systems or may carry illnesses like FeLV.

REDUCES STRESS: A trap that still carries the scent of a previous cat can be alarming or stressful for a new cat approaching it. Cats are highly sensitive to smells, and a strong scent left by another cat might deter them from entering the trap. Cleaning the trap eliminates these residual odors, making it more appealing for the next cat to enter, and thus increasing the effectiveness of the trapping efforts.

HYGIENE: Cleaning the trap removes any urine, f***s, blood, or vomit that the previous cat might have left behind. This creates a more hygienic and comfortable environment for the next cat.

TRAP LONGEVITY: Regularly cleaning the traps removes debris and bodily fluids that can corrode the trap's material and shorten its lifespan.

Ensure that any materials used to line the bottom of the trap, like newspaper, cardboard or p*e pads are replaced with fresh, clean ones for each new cat.

4 Paws to the rescue

4 Paws With A Cause is an animal rescue made up of loving foster homes.

We rescue, trap and re-home pets in need and maintain a small feral colony. We receive calls and emails everyday for animals in need of help. As a small rescue we do our best to accommodate or refer them to our rescue friends. Our founder Jodie Mangeri helps other rescues or people when an injured cat is in need by trapping it so medical care can be given. We are a 501c3 non-profit and depend on donations to run.
