I have a passion in helping people enjoy their horses and to be as safe as possible.
One thing that has always bothered me is seeing people hold their horse so tight when leading or pulling a horse on their horses trying to get them to walk or trot beside them .
I like my horses to be soft even on the ground ! I like for them to follow my cues I’m giving them without hesitation when asking for them to walk or trot beside me and then to come back down to a walk following my body language.
This was a beginners clinic teaching the basics of leading a horse and the horse following our cues we give them nice and softly.
This was a little clip from our small group session. The young boy Tanner has been struggling with his confidence on his new horse the last two years . On our second session I had him ride bareback ( which he was not happy about at first) but after showing him at anytime he could swing a leg off and be on the ground, his confidence started building 😊 His mom says now all he wants to do is ride bareback !!
When working with kids I find they can get rather board of all the “teaching” so I like to bring some fun into it!!
Without Tanner even knowing this fun was actually teaching so much more than just playing catch on your horse!
It helped with balance as your reaching to catch the ball, control of your horse while an object is coming at them ! And of course it’s great desensitizing for your horses too!!
