Puppies from this litter will be suitable for just about every avenue of work: tracking, detection, personal protection, protection sports, PSA, French Ring, IGP, SAR, and service work. Both parents have the temperament and drive to work in any discipline, with Kovacs titling/certifying in protection, detection, and tracking disciplines and Zajka titling in protecting, tracking, obedience and detection disciplines. I expect puppies social with people and other dog, solid nerves, high ball drive, full and firm grips, natural noses, biddable and sensitive to what the handler wants, and the ability to settle in the house. These pups might not be high level competition dogs but you will be able to do just about everything with these pups.

Zajka is a medium sized female at about 65lbs, imported from the Czech Republic Zajka is a go anywhere do anything dog, that is very clear headed and stable. She brings more defensive aggression to her puppies to balance out Kovacs’ heavy prey. At the same time Zajka is social with all dogs and people. Zajka has full, hard, and pushing grips on a suit, fast and firm strikes on a sleeve, high ball drive and excellent hunt drive. Zajka is very handler oriented and wants to be the center of her person’s universe at all times. She is very biddable and a little sensitive.

Zajka has a HARD off switch and can chill in the house without needing to be worked. She can then fire up and work whenever asked but does not need to. She lived in an outdoor run in the Czech Republic, but transitioned to being an inside dog immediately. In fact the moment she discovered the fluffy beds there was no going back for her! For never seeing environments outside of a trial/training field and her run/house, she has shown sound genetics environmental soundness.

Zajka holds her ZVV1 title, similar to an IGP1 title (tracking, obedience, protection), a show rating of SG and breed score of KKL for life. She also has a narcotics detection title through the American Society of Canine Trainers International.

Kovacs is a large male at 85lbs. He has high ball drive, high prey, high hunt, and high energy while also having a clear and easy off switch. He is environmentally sound, clear headed, with strong nerves, social with all people/children, and neutral to other dogs in public. He has traveled extensively with me and is always ready to work or relax as needed wherever we go. Kovacs has full, firm, HARD pushing grips. The more pressure a decoy puts on him the stronger he fights. He is a natural tracker with a natural ability to work hard surface tracks, he’s been one of the best dogs I’ve tracked behind. He lives to please and has innate desire to make sure he is doing everything correct. Everything I have ever asked him to do he has always said, “Yes, how high, how far?” I’ve raised and worked a lot of dogs but this dog has really been som**hing special to train and work with.

Kovacs holds three passing French Ring 1 titles and his PSA PDC. We continue to train and trial in French Ring, working towards our Ring 2 this summer. Kovacs has his AKC Tracking Dog (TD) and Tracking Dog Excellent (TDX) titles. With the American Society of Canine Trainers Kovacs is actively certified as an explosives detection k9, actively training and working in explosives detection, and holds a Patrol Tracking K9 title. He also has his three canine good citizens.

Zajka Tobani ZVV1, SG, KKL, ASCTI Narcotics Detection K9

Zajka earned her American Society of Canine Trainers International Narcotics Detection Building Title last week!

Thank you Katka Working Dog Training LLC Ava Wion for setting up the double blind search for Zajka and I. Miss Zajka is trained on m**h, he**in, and co***ne.

The title is set to the same standards as the ASCTI certification the only difference is the dog will not be working live so a title not a certification is issued by ASCTI. She searched multiple clear rooms and had to find two narcotic odors.

So proud of Officer Noah Ewing and Kibo! Kibo’s first street bite. He looks more and more like his father, Kovacs, every day.

Kibo was bred by Nine Realms German Shepherds and raised, trained by Nine Realms Canine Training before Aberdeen PD purchased him as a green dog. This is the goal of the Nine Realms German Shepherds, to produce dogs for LE and real world work.

On March 8, 2025, at 2:09 p.m., Aberdeen officers were dispatched to a trespassing complaint in the 1400 block of Pacific Avenue. The complainant reported that a family member had arrived at the location, was possibly under the influence of drugs, and was refusing to leave the property. Upon arrival, the officer was directed to the backyard, where the suspect was located and identified as a 34-year-old resident of Elma.

During a warrant check, it was discovered that the suspect had an active warrant for his arrest from the Washington State Department of Corrections. When the officer informed him that he was under arrest, the suspect backed away and fled toward the rear of the property. The officer pursued the suspect and caught up with him near the fence, where a struggle ensued. The officer was assaulted, fell to the ground, and the suspect fell on top of him, attempting to pin the officer down.

The officer managed to break free, but the suspect then jumped over the fence. As other officers arrived, they observed the suspect running in the 1500 block of W. Second Street. Officers continued the pursuit to the 1500 block of Bay Avenue, where the suspect eventually complied with commands to lie on the ground. However, as he did so, he placed his hands under his body near his waistline.

Despite the deployment of a Taser, it had no effect, and the suspect continued to reach into his waistband while kicking at officers. Due to the ongoing assault and the suspect's actions, the Aberdeen Police K-9, Kibo, was deployed. Kibo contacted the suspect on the right arm, at which point he became compliant and was placed in handcuffs. No weapons were found on the suspect.

The suspect was treated by the Aberdeen Fire Department before being transported to the Aberdeen City Jail, where he was booked on charges of obstructing a public servant, resisting arrest, and two counts of third-degree assault.

Nemex is a “Kovacs” Phönix Aus Der Asche son and was raised and trained by Nine Realms Canine Training. These updates make everything it takes to raise and train these pups so worth it. Very proud of Nemex’s handler and Nemex.

“K9 Nemex and Beaufort County Sheriff Department tracked for approximately 2.68 miles after an attempted murder suspect fled from a traffic stop. Nemex was able to track to the suspect’s house where he was later called out and placed into custody.”

This little cutie has found her forever home! Yellow/Sharvara, new name Lyda, will be moving to Hawaii. She will have 17 fenced acres to run and romp. Her new owners are looking into potential SAR work with her in the islands.

Getting to Hawai’i is quite the trip so she’ll be staying with me until she has two rabies vaccinations and a titer. Until then she’ll be working on all her house breaking, crate training, basic obedience, and exposure and socialization.

Herja and Xerxes last puppy that is still searching for her career is Miss Yellow/Sharvara-call name Falka.

Falka’s perfect day would include someone experienced in working line GSDs. She has high ball drive, good hunt drive, high food drive, fast to the puppy tug with full and firm grips. She is working on crate training and house training, she holds it almost the whole night! Two rounds of vaccinations, dewormed, and microchiped. Falka is higher energy but can settle in the house and will self entertain or snuggle after running amok. She’s not as outwardly confident as her brother, but she’s also not nervy or scared. She’s a bit more introverted in new situations but has the drive to pull her through just about anything if properly harnessed. She’ll chase a ball anywhere in any circumstance. No dog or human reactivity.

I think she would do well in a protection sport such as IGP or French Ring (she’s fast enough to the rag for Ring), and maybe PSA with good and smart training decoys and a handler that isn’t looking to go to worlds, or high levels. She would excel in detection or tracking and has already begun a foundation in both.

Almost the last puppy to go home from the Herja x Xerxes litter (miss yellow is still hunting for a working home), is Black/Grim, new name Garmr.

Garmr is joining the Nine Realms Canine Training pack as a dual purpose patrol dog prospect/trainee. He is a little copy of his father Xerxes in almost every way but I am hoping he got some of the anger and civility that his mother Herja posses. He’s already started his career with article indication, tiny tracks, ball searches and puppy bitework. He’s going to be a fun one!

Kibo and his handlers first captures! This track was mostly hard surface and about 3/4 mile long.

Kibo was started in patrol and well started in tracking by Nine Realms Canine Training. He finished all his training with his handler during their handler school last fall. He is a Phönix Aus Der Asche “Kovacs” son and takes after his father with his sharp tracking skills.

On January 11, 2025, at 7:28 p.m., Aberdeen officers were dispatched to a burglary-in-progress complaint. The reporting party advised that an alarm and camera were active in an enclosed fenced area in the 1300 block of Coolidge Road. The reporting party also advised that he could see a male inside the enclosed area.

Officers arrived in the area; however, the suspect had already fled. Upon their initial investigation, it was determined that the suspect had removed items from the fenced area. Officer Noah Ewing deployed his K-9, Kibo, to track the suspect. Kibo tracked the suspect north on Coolidge Road, west on Macfarlane Street, and then into a field in the 500 block of Southwest Front Street. K-9 Kibo tracked the suspect in the field, where he was arrested for burglary.

The suspect, a 38-year-old Aberdeen resident, was booked into the Aberdeen City Jail for burglary.

The next Herja x Xerxes puppy to go home is Purple/Surma, new name Nahla! Bryan and Diana lost their beloved Ruby over the holidays to seizures. Having had GSDs their whole lives and being without a dog now they were so excited when they called me about Purple. Though we know Nahla cannot replace Ruby, I hope she will bring them joy and remind them of their beloved girl.

The next Herja x Xerxes puppy to go home technically never left, Tan Collar/Cerberus, new name Stark!

Stark is joining Katka Working Dog Training LLC. Ava will be training him up for tracking, detection, and potentially protection.

I cannot thank Ava enough for raising this litter. It was much appreciated!

Before I announce the last couple of Herja x Xerxes puppies who have gone onto their new lives, let’s take a moment to feature Miss Yellow-Sharvara.

This active little lady is still hunting for just the right fit. She has high ball drive, high energy, full and firm grips on a puppy rag, and high food drive. She is social with other dogs, raised around cats, and Ionesco to explore/climb everything. She has started crate training, house training, article indication, sit, and down. Name recognition will start after 9wks when I pick her formal name.

She would be suited for just about all avenues of work (protection, sports, detection, tracking, SAR), except service work. She needs work, an owner experienced with working lines, and structure and she’s going to be awesome.

Until then she’ll stay with Nine Realms Canine Training where she will continue basics for tracking, detection, puppy protection, obedience, crate training, house training, and lots of exposure/confidence building trips. The same I do for all my working pups.

Next puppy to “leave” is White/Lycan, new name Sihil. For those fellow nerds, Sihil is the Witcher Geralt’s sword.

Miss Sihil is joining Jo Holcombe karr_dogs and is staying apart of the Nine Realms GSD program as a potential breeding female in the future. This is Jo’s second Nine Realms GSD with her first being from Kovacs x Narsil, Sigmund! While Jo co-owns this little lady with me she will be learning tracking, explosives detection, and PSA. I look forward to everything you do with her!

The next puppy to go home is Blue/Carcharoth, new name Bear! I almost kept this puppy had he has excellent grips, is very balanced, confident, and goes with the flow. I look forward to seeing Chris and family raise this dude! Bear already looks so thrilled 😅

The Herja x Xerxes puppies are off to their new homes! The first to depart was Miss Pink, new name Murph!

Pinkie has been the puppy devoted on since birth by .k9 and I. She can do no wrong. Pink is going to Missoula MT to live a very fulfilled life camping, hiking, and bossing around her new Australian Shepherd brother Jack. I look forward to seeing her grand adventures!
