Long awaited names for the Spectral Hound Litter!

Yellow- Sharvara:
(Shar-va-ra)-In Hindu Mythology, Sharvara is one of the two dogs that guard the gates to the underworld.

Black- Grim:
A dog, usually black, that appears right before someone is about to die. An omen of death.

White- Lycan:
Another name for a werewolf in Greek Mythology.

Green- Kludde:
(Clued) Demonic canine of the water in folklore from the Netherlands and Belgium.

Blue- Carcharoth:
(Car-ka-roth ) From Tolkien’s mythology of Middle Earth. Carcharoth guards the gates of Angband, a dark realm.

Purple- Surma:
(Sir-ma) In Finnish mythology Surma is the monster that guards the gates of the underworld.

Pink- Bulgea:
(Bull-gay) In Korean Mythology Bulgea are fire dogs that come from the underworld and chase the sun and moon.

Tan- Cerberus:
(Sir-burr-us) The dog that guards the gates to the underworld in Greek Mythology.

Herja x Xerxes babies are a week old today!

This litter theme is Spectral/Hell Hounds. Names will be coming from all sorts of mythology and literature. Sunday we’ll give the names!

Our Pink girl, the smallest, just passed 1lb! A big milestone for her. The white female is the largest of the bunch, nearing 2lbs! The all black male, tan collar, is the biggest male so far.

They are all doing great and Herja is being an excellent mother.

Welcome to the world Herja x Xerxes litter!

November 8 Herja gave us eight precious little beans. Four males and four females. Two sable females, two black and tan females, two sable males, one black and tan male, and one black male.

Katka Working Dog Training Ava Wion has been doing a great job with the litter so far! Aus Der Asche German Shepherds thank you for trusting me with Herja 2.5yrs ago!

Two males and three females are available.

Sword of Anduril von Nine Realms
Narsil x Kovacs 2023 Lord of the Rings Sword Litter

Anduril and I had been playing around with narcotics detection the last couple of months. Nothing formal or planned and pro only a session a week. After the handler school I started to train with him more and in the span of two weeks he has a final response to co***ne, m**h, and he**in. Honestly shocked how fast he figured it out. Genetics were a huge part of this (Narsil x Kovacs) and just letting him have fun!

From my sad little dud who cried the whole temperament test to the brave little toaster that could. The first part of the video is his temperament test, the video right after is the same room with a narcotic hide. I have no expectations for him and because of that everything he does we have fun with, good or bad!

Introducing the newest Nine Realms pack member, Zajka Tobani ZVV1.

Zajka joined the pack straight from the Czech Republic in August. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to introduce her and wanted to properly get to know her before making a post as well.

Zajka was titled in the Czech Republic and holds a ZVV1 (similar to IGP1) title, and lifetime use for breeding per Czech standards. In protection she shows much more good aggresion with full, firm and fast grips. At the same time Zajka is social with all dogs (males and females) and people (adults and children). She has high ball drive and excellent hunt drive. She is not high energy though or whiney.

She lived in an outdoor run in the Czech Republic, having never been inside, but has transitioned to life inside immediately as well as doing protection and detection inside without missing a beat. She can be free in the house and does not get into anything, does not resource guard, and is clean. She is confident in new situations, floors, and can be handled by anyone safely. Zajka is a very clear headed and stable female. She has a clear off switch and can chill in the house without needing to be worked. Zajka is a go anywhere do anything dog.

Zajka was selected to complement Kovacs’ pedigree, as they both share Karn and Olex in their pedigree. Zajka also has Kinski, a known producer of hard, full grips. She was purchased to bring more defensive aggression and drive to Kovacs genetics. She will bring the defense/aggression that Kovacs’ prey heavy genetics lack.

Zajka will continue training with me for narcotics detection and tracking and will gain American Society of Canine Trainers International Narcotics Detection and Patrol Tracking titles/certifications. She was started this last week on odor and searches and has taken to it like a natural. Just what I want to see in a female purchased to produce more workers.

So far Zajka has settled into the pack like she has lived here her whole life. I look forward to seeing what she and Kovacs produce!

X-rays yesterday confirmed 6-8 puppies for Herja x Xerxes!

Male and Female reservations are still available for this litter. This litter was bred with the goal of dogs that can do real world work and pups will be suitable for law enforcement, SAR, private detection/security, personal protection, tracking, detection, and protection sports.

Another BIG congratulations to Sword of Sting von Nine Realms “Sigmund,” and his handler, trainer, owner Jo Holcombe for passing their ASCTI Patrol Tracking Title!

Sigmund is a Shards of Narsil von Nine Realms “Narsil,” and Phönix Aus Der Asche “Kovacs” son. At only 10months old he has passed a certification standard designed for fully mature adult dogs. This speaks to the skill of Jo’s training and handling. Sigmund is now working towards explosives detection certifications and AKC tracking titles.

Very proud to see the majority of my puppies in various working homes and achieving titles and certifications in their respective disciplines.

A big congratulations to our friend and fellow trainer Ava Wion of Katka Working Dog Training and our girl Letti Aus Der Asche- “Herja” for passing their BH this weekend!

Even more impressive, Ava only decided to train and trial for a BH and IGP two months ago. Very impressed by the fancy heeling and routine you had with just two months real practice. I look forward to seeing what more you accomplish!

Herja is the mother to Nine Realms upcoming November litter with Xerxes Aus Der Asche. This is going to be a strong working litter.

Expecting high drive pups suitable for all varieties of work: IGP, PSA, French Ring, detection, tracking, SAR, personal protection, and law enforcement canines. Pups will likely be sable or black and tan. This pairing will produce genetically firm, full, and hard grips, with good balance of prey and defense, high ball drive, high hunt drive, excellent work ethic, strong nerve, and good handler engagement. Puppies will be neutral/aloof to strangers. Some of my favorite dogs are in this paring including Panter, Goldy, Cak, and Wabi Vikar.

Working homes only at this time. Male and female reservations available. Puppies are matched to owners based on temperament tests not first/second picks.

Herja is a larger female at around 75lbs and lots of bone. She is OFA Good Hips, DM Clear, SV Elbows A Stamp Noch Zugelassen.

Herja is probably the nicest female, and arguably GSD, I have ever met in terms of power in protection and true aggression. She has high ball drive, high energy, full/firm/hard grips on sleeve/suit/hidden sleeve. She is a serious and hard female that means business in protection, her aggresion is real, she lives for the fight and is not equipment fixated in anyway. This is the dog I want in any back alley fight. As strong as she is, she is good with other dogs, and neutral with people or aloof. Herja is exactly what I am looking for in a bitch to produce my preference for police and working dogs. Herja is in a guardian home with Ava Wion/Katka K9 and is working towards her BH, I
IGP titles and ASCTI patrol tracking title.

Xerxes is a moderately-sized male, DM clear with OFA prelim Good Hips, Normal Elbows. He has very high prey drive, hard grips on the sleeve and natural tracking/detection ability. He is a confident and socially neutral dog, who is appropriately aloof in public settings. Xerxes bonds strongly with and is very motivated to please his handler. At home Xerxes has an amazing off switch and he is very balanced and social with the other dogs in the home. Xerxes is owned by Katka K9/Ava Wion and is currently training in all three Schutzhund disciplines as well as training to become certified in ASCTI Patrol Tracking.

The beautiful Letti Aus Der Asche CGC, ASCTI Explosives Detection K9 - call name “Herja” - meaning she who devastates, she who wages war.

Herja has been apart of the Nine Realms breeding program since April 2022. She is half sisters to Kovacs, sharing the same mom. She lives in a guardian home with Katka Working Dog Training Ava Wion, who spoils her absolutely rotten. Ava and Herja are working towards their BH and plan to purse further titles in IGP.

Herja is a very strong female, with a very serious and natural civil side and some real aggression in protection. She’s the nicest female for true protection/patrol work I have met so far (not prey heavy). I cannot wait to see the working potential of the puppies she produces.

Stay tuned for some fall updates in regards to possible puppies from Herja!

Sigmund (Sting) from the Narsil x Kovacs 2023 Lord of the Rings Sword Litter was unfazed by the fireworks display for the Fourth of July. Showing his great genetics from his parents and even more important and proper exposure during the critical period (8-16wks) by his owner. Good job tiny Kovacs!

I thought Anduril (Kovacs x Narsil 2023) was copy and paste Narsil….nope Rogue (Kovacs x Narsil 2023) is her spitting image!!!! Rogue is in training to be a service dog! Three of the Kovacs x Narsil pups are training to be service dogs.

The misadventures of Lime continue 🤣 he had also just fallen of the fireplace hearth and into the water bowl.

Narsil x Kovacs Lord of the Rings Sword Litter turned 8wks yesterday. They had quite the adventures this last week with field trips to a youth group, adventures in the big dog yard, and lots of guests. They also got sorted into Hogwarts houses (the method was not entirely accurate as we sorted based on whatever house they grabbed first 😆). All pups are spoken for and start to leave this weekend. I’m going to miss them lots but also enjoy some more free time.

Update February 8: Red has been reserved. Red-Glamdring Suited for sport, tracking, detection, protection, SAR, or any other active lifestyle. He would be a good service dog as long as his owner is active. He scored a 42 out of 50 on his puppy temperament test (from the book the focused puppy). He is confident in new places, readily explores. Greats new people happily. Recovers instantly from noise and visual startle. High energy. High food drive. Medium high ball and prey drive. Good grips on a puppy tug, that continue to get better with age. He is a nice and balanced male that could go any direction. Adventures to the great outdoors now that it’s not so nasty outside. Per usual, Lime wandered off and did his own thing. Which involved a lot of me herding him back into the confines of the yard.

Narsil x Kovacs puppies went on their first field trip away from the home yesterday. Everyone handled the car ride like a champ. Much fun was had by all! Two males available. Temperament testing happens next Thursday. Then I’ll know who is suited for what, and who gets who that is already on the list.
