Rusty Truck Ranch The RTR is a 40 acre Ranch in Medical Lake, WA. Opening weekend is October 2nd and 3rd, 10-5pm. Open every weekend in October.

We strive to improve biodiversity on our Ranch, while supporting education and positive interaction between visitors and our animal residents. Rusty Truck Ranch is a 40 acre family farm located in Medical Lake Washington. We will be open to the public in the Fall of 2021 for our second annual pumpkin patch & petting zoo. We are conveniently located at the edge of downtown Medical Lake, off Highway

902, just East of Fox Hollow Ridge & Lakes Harvest Foods. We lovingly raise sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, horses, bees, kitties, pups, and we love adding new additions! We are excited to share our love of farm life with our local community, as well as some of the farm fresh products from our land and animals: honey, pumpkins, sheep’s milk soap and more! We have made some new additions to this years list of Pumpkin Patch activities including: a hiking trail, a corn bin to play in for the kiddos, petting/feeding zoo, private fire pits, and mini photo sessions with Mountain Inspired Photography! We look forward to adding more family friendly events in the future, and hope to see you at the Pumpkin Patch!

We had a little surprise this morning! 💕

We have one ewe that is off cycle from the others and always gives a Christmas baby! She is a small ewe, never looks pregnant (I don’t know how this giant baby fit in that tiny mama!), she also doesn’t bag up much so it catches us off guard. Farmer Matt and I even eyed this ewe last week and talked about if we though she would have another December baby.

This is the second year, so fool me twice and all that…

The good thing is that lambs are super hardy and cold tolerant. They basically dry off instsntly because of their wool, so they always do well even when born on snowy days like today. He was up walking around on unstable legs and wagging his tail while nursing when we came out.

We have quite a few of these 5ft (orange) and 6ft (yellow) trees. Orange tags are $40 now and yellow are $50!

We have this tree… a 10 ft gorgeous blue toned Noble Fir. It is a truly lovely tree, and the biggest one we have ever had.

It needs to be in someone’s living room all decorated with ornaments and presents under it. 🎁 ❤️🌲

It is priced as an 8-9ft tree at $179 so it is a great deal. Message me if you are interested and we will hold it for it for you.

This is not an uncommmon find in the wintertime. 😱

This is my tub.
This is also a wad of hay in the bottom of my tub.
This is the glamorous side of owning a farm.

Why is there a wad of hay in the bottom of your tub, you may ask? Well, this is the result of the kids completing (or partially completing) their farm chores.

Our oldest was sick today but still fed and watered her bunnies, which required her to fill some water from the tub (she doesn’t like using the frost-free spicket in the winter because they are harder to turn on when it is cold) so she fills her bucket in our tub with warm water.

She also took this opportunity to possibly rinse her bucket or perhaps some hay fell from the bottom of the bucket, either way this ‘treat’ was left behind. Am I proud of her for doing the work, despite feeling under the weather? Yes. Am I still shocked that this is the state of my life? Occasionally, yes.

Tonight, farmer Matt and I went to bed chuckling- people often remark that we are living their dream… I doubt this is what they have in mind but this is what the reality looks like most of the time.

👉We offer $10 tree deliveries every year with a couple options:

🎄Option 1- come pick out your tree at the Ranch and we will deliver it to your doorstep within a day or two.

🎄Option 2- message us the type/height of tree you are looking for and we will send you photos to pick from. We will deliver the tree of your choice to your doorstep.

Message us if you are interested! Only available to the Medical Lake, Cheney and Airway Heights areas.

I just want to brag for a minute… We have had two girls (now young ladies) working for since we opened 5 years ago. These are not your average teenagers that grew up on a farm. But they always show up, they get pushed out of their comfort zone and they always do whatever they can do to help us. And this afternoon when I said our mama pig was in labor, there they were! They watched as I pulled the first piglet and then they hopped into my place for the delivery of the second piglet when I had to run to pick up Farmer Matt during the delivery process. They even dried and stimulated a piglet just like I had showed them. It has been wonderful to watch them grow up and learn new skills, and we are very grateful for them. ♥️

Are your kids ready for pony rides!!?? We are! ♥️ Toots (rhymes with “puts”) the pony 💜 Bravo the pony 🧡Indy the Appaloosa 🩵 Rocky the mustang 💙 & Dude the pony Rides are $7 and you can purchase them 3 ways- 1- when you purchase ur tickets online 2- when you show your tickets at the entry gate you can ask to add them onto your ticket purchase 3- after you arrive (and your child decides they aren’t actually scared of the horses and they DO want to ride a horse at the same time as their cousin) you can purchase them in the barn 😄 📋 You can also sign our waiver ahead of time on website- be sure to keep a screenshot to show the pony ride instructor.
