Hi Everyone- as always it was a busy weekend at FTS. After Saturday morning cleaning activities I took Lucian home with me for a few hours. We sat outside for awhile, he likes visiting with the neighbors who love him. Back inside after using the couch as the Indy speedway it was time for nap. He found the cubby with the big fluffy cat bed and was down for a long nap! This little guy has stolen my ❤️!!

Michelle posted a thank you to all for supporting little Lucian and every volunteer and board member wanted to extend that thank you too! We are all grateful to you for your generosity and it means the world to us. So we wanted to have a little fun and wish we had one of these for everyone. We are going to take the names of everyone who donated towards Lucian’s surgery and have a little raffle. We have an adorable Portia stuffy that the winner will get. We chose Portia because she is the official adopted Mom of Lucian and Monte. She is showing them how to fox, cleans them up and is teaching them fox manners.
No need to do anything, if you donated your name is automatically included. We will announce the winner on Saturday.

Good Morning Everyone- Baby foxes are a lot like toddlers, as safe as you try to keep them they definitely test their boundaries. Baby Lucian did just that and is currently sporting a splint until he goes in for surgery on Monday to have his leg repaired.
He fractured his back leg by what we would think of as our ankle. Unfortunately he also damaged a tendon which is on top of a growth plate. We could just try to allow the splint to work but the the vet feels his best chance of complete recovery is surgery.
Lucian is 1.25lbs, smart, funny, loveable and confident! We want to give this guy the best possible chance of a full recovery.
The vet bill with surgery is going to be $1941. This is a huge unexpected expense for FTS and we need your help. If you can please donate to help with Lucian’s surgery. Productive Sunday morning… match made between Rebel and Smokey…

Last one for tonight- Smokey digs his first hole!’

First of two videos promised. This is Felix one of our newest members of the Fox Tale Sanctuary crew. Felix is a what is known as a Silver fox which belongs to the same species as the red fox (Vulpes). Silver foxes have higher levels of melanin in their generic makeup. They represent 10% of the entire red fox species. We currently are the home to 9 silver foxes. The video shows the long, soft, glossy fur they are known for. At the end of the video you will see when I pet his tail upward the amount of white/silver under the black fur is amazing. Rubbing his little paws is just because he enjoys it!

Joanne Marston entertaining our newest fox, baby Felix, while I multitask at the end of the night. This little guy, coming to us at 6 months of age, is SO friendly and social. He is separated from the crew right now until he is fully vetted, neutered and chipped. Since he has been indoors to this point, todays hot weather had me bringing him in-house, while I worked. Tonight, Felix is being spoiled, and sleeping with me. Wish me luck on getting any sleep 🤦🏻‍♀️🤪🤷🏻‍♀️❤️🦊

Felix is settling in like a little champ! He loves bellies rubs, and really loves of any kind! Such a sweetie. This guy is going to need a sponsor…if you are interested please reach out.
