Maddie is on her way back home now after finishing up a three-week program with us. This bright, young, Doodle was here to work on things like leash manners (no more barking and lunging at dogs on walks!) and some household basics such as not jumping on or mouthing guests. She has come such a long way and her family is committed to maintaining her progress!

Sammy is a reactive, easily over stimulated, little guy that is here to get a much better handle on his reactivity and to help him feel more comfortable and confident out in the world.
Often, when we get dogs in like Sammy, we spend the first day or two of their programs taking long line decompression walks to allow them to better settle into our routine and set them up for success in their program!

This little jumping bean just started her Perfect Puppy program with us. Luna is a Golden Retriever x Irish Setter mix and we cannot wait to help her grow up great with her family ๐

Check out little Lucy holding a down stay in the farm store! Learning to be brave without being attached to her handler, how to be calm in the presence of people and dogs, and how to settle on her own were big focuses during her stay with us. Getting Lucy out of her comfort zone at home and into her board and train program was a huge step forward for her and allowed us to really focus on helping her grow. We canโt wait for her family to see how far she has come!

โI donโt have regular access to a track, so we could never be competitiveโ This is one of the most common misconceptions I hear from people looking to get into weight pull competitively. Although track work is helpful, Iโm going to let you in on a little secret. The โจ magicโจ in building a good dog is in drag work and sled work. (Here, my old girl, Piper, is putting in a few easy reps to stay in senior shape!)
What does a typical training session look like? Not much, honestly. Ruby & Audrey are both just a few days into their programs and are learning basic leash drills as well as place, sit, and down. Itโs not very exciting to watch, but itโs hard work for these pups! Bubbles & Bella are tethered to provide a level of distraction, but also so that they can practice being OK with not being the center of the party! ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ผ๐ด๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ.

Freya is very patient with the puppies that come through!
She needs a couch to call her own, though. Someone snatch this little girl up, quick!
Freya is adoptable through Mannered Mutts Rescue and her adoption includes follow up support from us to keep her successful in her new home ๐ฅฐ Freya knows basic commands and walks nicely on leash. She is roughly 1.5 years old, is people and dog friendly, and would do best in a home without cats or other small animals (she can ignore chickens, though!).
To get great off leash obedience, we have to start with great on leash obedience. It can be tempting to skip the foundation steps, but your dog will thank you for taking the time to establish clarity and build a strong reinforcement history before you take off the lead.
Remyโs family lives on acreage, so a reliable off leash recall is really important to them. This is the first step in getting him there!
