Good morning. Posting an update about our days for surgeries. We are calling clients that are on our waiting list for September days.
We are taking new patients, but we are letting you know at the time of the call, you can be put on our list or we can refer you to other clinics.
We are still doing wellness days for vaccinations and other services we offer.
I have been in contact with 2 veterinarians for possible surgery and wellness but limited days because they do have other clinics to cover.
We are doing our best to get back to you when you call or email. We get 75 to 100 calls and emails daily .

What a beautiful and happy ending for a family that hoped to have their pet back home.

Our biggest story of the day -
This dog came in - and was microchipped. The chip was registered - to someone in FLORIDA. Fully expecting to call and be told they rehomed the dog long ago - or the # would be disconnected, Clerk Jenna was surprised to hear the dog was lost or stolen 6 YEARS AGO when the family lived in Lorain! The owner had been updating the chip in hopes that one day, her sweet girl would be returned to her. Well, today - the owner's sister picked up Lucy Marie - and her family will be traveling to take her home.

In an effort to be transparent to you, our loyal clientele, I would like to make the following statement pertaining to our present situation to squelch the rumors that are circulating.
Recently our full-time veterinarian whilst in the midst of a divorce, was accused of some very serious accusations from within his family to which he has pled not guilty. Considering these allegations his veterinary license has been suspended until such time as these matters can be handled through the proper legal channels.
We have a part time veterinarian, as well as a relief veterinarian who have stepped up to help us to continue our mission of providing affordable veterinary solutions for you, our local community, for which we are most grateful.
We appreciate the outpouring of support we have received from so many of our patrons and assure you that we are moving forward day by day to work to the best of our ability for the benefit of all our customers.
Due to the delicate nature of the situation, we are unable to elaborate further and appreciate your understanding and accommodations as we diligently work to honor all our appointments. We are confident that we will come through this difficult time even stronger than today and together, will continue to make a positive impact on the overpopulation of pets.

Giving another update for the rest of May. We are booked for dogs. We can get your cats in male and female.
We are waiting for the update on another veterinarian by the end of May.
We appreciate all the support you have given. We are still doing wellness, vaccines, dentals. The call log is being worked on as we can get over 100 a day.
Friendly reminder on sick or injured also skin issues are things we send to full service or emergency hospital.
We realize that the cost for those things are not always low, but they can absolutely help your pet ,because we don't carry the diagnostic equipment.
We are working on getting a full-time veterinarian, we have 2 part-time Veterinarians that are amazing and we so appreciate them helping us out.

UPDATE 4-21-24 Want to let everyone know we are still doing wellness during the week. (M-F).Tuesday and Thursday evening surgeries and dentals, we will be referring severe dental issues to full service until we are open full-time.
For the month of May we will be offering
$ 5.00 off on toe nail trims.
$ 5.00 off on heartworm testing ( 4dx)
$ 25.00 microchiping. Cat and Dog.

New update 4-17-24
We can see wellness for boosters, heartworm test, felv/fiv test. Anal glands ,toe nail trim. Monday through Friday. Evening surgeries for now 2 days a week. Please email [email protected] for scheduling and questions.

Surgeries are still being rescheduled, so please be patient, the admins are doing great at trying to get you scheduled or rescheduled.
We are working through this and rumors of closing are not true.
We will be working full-time soon.

Wanted to give an update.
We are finishing up all the paperwork that has to be done by the state. When a new veterinarian takes over and the current veterinarian signs off, we have to go through the proper steps. This doesn't happen overnight. The Drug companies have to have all the licenses and then we can move forward.
I want to thank everyone that has been understanding and kind to my admins. This is not their fault and making 100s of calls and rearranging days takes time. We hope to have our current part-time veterinarian working with another veterinarian after her exams. It is very hard to find veterinarians ,this is happening all over . When you ask why it takes so long to get in any veterinary hospital, it is because veterinarians are leaving the field or moving to bigger hospitals to cover their student loans.
We will be doing surgeries full-time soon but if your pets needs spayed or neutered now we can offer you a few other low cost clinics that are available.

I wanted to give everyone an update on the clinic. We have been able to get our part time veterinarian on the books through the state and pharmacy board.
The ohio veterinary licensing board was amazing and understanding of how critical it was to open back up with our new managing veterinarian.
We plan on being 5 days a week again by May. We apologize for the inconvenience and I want to thank you again for your support and prayers.
Things were out of our control and we are doing everything we can to get your pets in for surgery and wellness as soon as we can.

I want to first apologize for the inconvenience this has caused our faithful clients. Unfortunately our veterinarian is no longer with us. We will be canceling and altering our schedule around relief veterinarians until we can bring on a new full time vet.We have a great relief Veterinarian that has worked with us for 2 years that will be offering evening surgeries. Again I sincerely apologize for all of the inconvenience this is causing we will be in touch with everyone who's appointment this effects.

Our Dr has had to go out of town again for family reasons.

We want to thank Save Ohio Strays for the grant to help spay and neuter 30 pit bulls for 50.00. With the shelters and rescues full, we can help prevent a litter. ❤️🐾🐾

They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery. And we want to honor and acknowledge this idea came from the Friends of Stark County Shelter Animals and AlterClinic Animal Care Stark county initiative. We hope more initiatives like this can be done in every county!

If you follow rescue at all, you know we are in crisis. There are too many great souls needing a second chance, and not enough homes. Most shelters have an inordinate amount (usually over 80%) of pit mixes. We love them, but we are a small, foster home based group. and only capable of helping so many. When we saw the brilliant idea for fixing pit mixes by Friends of Stark County, we decided to try to help our county! Only 1 in every 600 pit mixes born gets a forever home. We want to stop the cycle of overpopulation, and are starting with this small step to help prevent unwanted litters.

It is in that spirit that we are sponsoring THIRTY pitbulls to get fixed at Mission Possible Animal Hospital LLC for just $50 to the owner! We will cover the rest of their spay or neuter surgery. We realize this is a drop in the bucket, but it is a start. This is a project we are thrilled to enlist the S/N experts at Mission Possible Animal Hospital LLC to get it done!

We want to thank you for your patience and understanding while we are returning everyone's phone messages and emails. We have armstrong system and it allows us to see the number of calls coming in daily. On average the number is 90 plus calls daily. We have hired a great admin that is coming in after hours and weekends to return the missed calls and emails. Our admins working 8a to 5pm are checking in surgeries from 8am to 9am. They are working on wellness patients coming in and answering the phone calls and emails. Afternoon is checking out patience and printing surgeries for the next morning check in.
We offer the online service for surgeries and are seeing 15 to 30 clients daily using it to make an appointment, we are happy to see it is helping.

Reminder for traps, ferals can not come in squirrel traps. They must come in a standard size live trap. We know not everyone has standard traps , you will need to borrow or buy a trap . We will not take squirrel traps . This has always been our policy. trappers cannot bring ferals in a squirrel trap.
Stray cats are not feral ,if they are friendly it will be full price.
