Good morning. It's been a while since we have given any updates so wanted to touch base.

As of September, we let our USDA license expire at its renewal date. We were proud to be USDA licenced as it held us to a higher standard and was for the benefit of the animals.

Unfortunately this past week we lost one of our most popular, sweetest and absolutely stunning animal ambassadors. Lillian, our greater kinkajou, was found at the bottom of her enclosure Monday night. She was not ill and was perfectly normal, loving and ate all her dinner the night before. Between us and her previous owner, we had her for 17 years and was an adult when she was first obtained. We estimate her age to be mid-20s. Lilly was one of the few adult kinkajous that you saw in an animal program. She had zero aggression, LOVED her papaya and was one of the most photogenic animals I had. She will be missed but I am thankful God took her fast and she didn't suffer.

Good news is, Willow is thriving ♥️. We decided to stop all sloth encounters in December when Willow became extremely ill and we almost lost her multiple times. It took many months, but I am happy to say she recovered 100%! We do feel, after doing much research and seeing many sloths die or become very sick, that encounters are not good for these special animals. As much as we tried to justify that Willow loved people and encounters, her health told us differently. We truly, truly will always put our animals above money. We will not recommend any sloth encounters because we do not believe they are an animal that thrives under these conditions. If you do an encounter and their sloth is sick, please ask the questions for the animal's sake. If people are doing encounters with ill animals, don't fall for the "this is their new normal" and they continue to collect money when the animal is clearly not thriving. We are researching facilities where our sloths can possibly go and thrive, have more room and never have to do encounters again.

Even though we no longer do public animal shows or encounters, animals are still and always will be a huge part of our lives. I will be volunteering with Floyd, my macaw, at a nursing home where he just gets to hang out. Jayna is now a volunteer at Medina SPCA and continues to show her Friesian cross horse and train our yearling. Bryan continues to love and care for the many animals we still own and we have many that are in their later years of life. Kyler, well I have high hopes for him as he has mentioned wanting to go to college for zoology ♥️.

Thank you again for all the love and support over the years ♥️

UPDATE: Thank you all for your understanding with our decision to retire from animal programs and encounters.

Just wanted to give you an update on Willow. Although she still is having some digestive type issues, she is doing much better from how she was in December.

We do not plan on doing encounters again, but will continue to give updates on the animals because we know how much they are loved ♥️

This is our son, Kyler, with Willow tonight.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

With a new year beginning, we always take the time to reflect on our past year and what our goals are for the year ahead.

After much consideration and prayer, we have made the difficult decision to retire from doing animal programs and sloth encounters. We have been USDA licensed for over 13 years and have dedicated our lives to doing animal rescue and education.

Many of you have seen us travel with the same animals year after year. Lillian our kinkajou is around 20 yrs old, Coco the coatimundi is 13, Bogota our Columbian tegu has traveled with us for 10+ years, Rosie the red-tailed boa is close to 15 yrs old, our corn snake is over 10 years old, etc. These animals have all worked with us for years and absolutely deserve retirement in their later years of life. We always take the commitment to any new younger animals very seriously, and with Bryan's and my age, we don't feel that obtaining new animals for our programs are in the best interest of the animals or us.

In the 14 years that we have been in business, we have felt blessed to be able to work with some of the most amazing species and have met so many incredible amazing families along our journey.
We hope that if you ever learned anything about us during a program, that at the end of the show you walked away saying those two really love their animals and the animals love them.

We have done thousands of shows and I can remember each and every one. We are so thankful for all of the support and love over the years as we took a small idea and it grew faster and bigger than we could have ever imagined.

All of these years our motto was "it's not about us, it's about the animals". You rarely saw a picture of Bryan or I. If we felt a show was too loud or an animal was too nervous, we would not bring them out. It's always been about them and what's best. This decision is no different.

So today, we are being true to our word we have given to our animals , including the sloths. Willow had recently shown some signs of digestive issues and we promised and prayed on her that if she recovered that we would stop all encounters. As she continues to show signs of improvement...we are staying true to our promise.

We apologize to all of you that may be disappointed, that we were not able to get to, that have been on our waiting list. Fortunately, it was just a waiting list and we never asked for deposits to be on that list. Through your disappointment, please just know that this decision was made with our animal's health as a priority and if you are a true animal lover, you will understand our need to discontinue our encounters.

Thank you for your patience, your understanding and for your shared love of all God's critters.
