See that?! That's baby heartworm swimming through the blood stream from one of our patients earlier this morning! Nobody wants bugs in their blood!
Here's the reason we always want to test your pet before starting prevention (or if there has been a gap in giving prevention)- these babies (microphilariae) grow into adult worms in just a few short months and can break apart and cause fatal blockages in the blood stream!
