Mark your calendars!!!

Here is the Orleans County New York Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic dates for 2024!

Make sure your dogs, cats and ferrets are vaccinated. There is no excuse not to vaccinate them if you love them.

Clinics will be drive-thru style, please remain in your vehicle with your pets. Limit of 4 pets per car maximum. We encourage all residents to take advantage of this free opportunity to make sure that their cats, dogs, and ferrets are immunized against rabies and that the vaccinations are kept up to date. Rabies continues to be a serious public health concern and is a preventable viral disease most often transmitted through the bite of a rabid animal. Please leave wildlife alone.

We would like to wish everyone a healthy and happy new year!

As the leaves change and the temperature dips with the progression of fall, the likelihood of your pups interacting with deer ticks increases significantly. Deer ticks love this time of year, so here are some tips to keep you, your dogs and other household pets safe this autumn.

1. Use veterinary-approved tick preventives on your dog (more info below).

2. Avoid wooded areas and tall grass.

3. Check your pets and yourself after going outside. Ticks can be transmitted to indoor cats, so make sure to do a thorough search.

4. Do not handle ticks with your bare hands. Ticks transmit numerous diseases to dogs and people, including:

*Borreliosis (Lyme Disease)
*Anaplasmosis
*Babesiosis
*Ehrlichiosis

5. Contact your vet or doctor with questions.
