Updated Equitation Championships Qualifications

In order to participate in the NVF Championships, all exhibitors must compete in a minimum of two (2) Next Venture Farm shows in the 2024 competition year. This can include showing at the September horse show as your second show. Exhibitors must also be a member of the NVF Show Association, which can be do one at the show office the day of the Championships.

The Year End Awards have arrived and they are beautiful! Julie Shea will be at the farm next Sunday, January 14 from 10 AM to 12 PM in the show office where you can come pick up your awards. If you’re not able to make it that day please email [email protected] to arrange alternative pick up. Local drop off may be available.

We have posted a revised schedule for tomorrow on horseshowing.com. Ring 1 will start at 8:00. Ring 2 and indoor will start at 7:00. The rain forecast seems to be shifting to later in the day so we should have outdoor exhibitors wrapped up prior to the rain. There will not be a warmup or open schooling in the indoor but handwalking is permitted before 6:30 AM. Crossrail warmup in ring 2 starts at 6:00 and 3’ warmup in ring 1 starts at 6:30. Lunging will be available in last paddock which has been freshly graded. Once ring 2 is done for the day, that will also be available for lunging. Front field will be reserved for horse trailers. Parking attendant will direct car parking.

The Next Venture Farm Equestrian Championships are scheduled for Saturday, September 16. Championship classes will be open to active members who have participated in three or more Next Venture shows.

There are 2 shows left to qualify!

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! A couple things to note:
- schedule is up to date on horseshowing.com. times are pretty accurate but likely we will run slightly ahead of schedule in ring 2
- schedule now includes the warmups so everyone knows when they will occur
- we will park all cars next to indoor/down back. No cars will be allowed in the field. This significantly helped the trailer drivers get on and out last time. Please follow parking attendants instructions (did I just call myself a parking attendant?!)
- cross rail warmup and 3’ warmup will start at 6:30
- we will start promptly at 8:00 AM
- don’t forget to sign up for your NVF Show Association membership. Lots of hard earned points didn’t get awarded to horses and riders as they weren’t active members
- we will once again have lovely food prepared by Holland Provisions. She added some delicious sandwiches to the menu 😋

Everyone at Next Venture is looking forward to hosting all of you at our June 10 horse show. Depending on counts, we will add a third judge in the indoor again. If we continue to have this level of interest in our show, we will build a third ring.

If you need a measurement, please let me know no later than Tuesday so we can coordinate the vet coming out.

The latest and final schedule has been posted to horseshowing.com. Given the counts, we will be running a 3 ring horse show, utilizing the indoor for a ring. Thank you Trisha Concannon for helping us in a pinch.

Important info-
Start times - Ring 1 and 2: 7:00 AM, Indoor at 8:00 AM

Lunging -
Permitted in indoor from 5:30-6:30 AM and after the short stirrup concluded around 1:00PM. While the indoor is being utilized as a show ring, we will have a lunging area in the last paddock next to indoor. We are actively adding GGT to it but it’s not ideal so best to lunge before arriving. We will monitor it and drag it as needed.

Warmups -
Ring 1: 2’9”-3’ warmup from 6-7am. 2’6” warmup for child adults directly proceeding child/adult division.

Ring 2: 2’ warmup from 6-7am. 2’6” warmup directly proceeding childrens equitation (approximately 12:00)

Ring 3/Indoor: xrail warmup from 7-8am.

The two warmups during day will strictly be one course per horse. We also offer open schooling.

Adds-
While entries are officially closed, any class adds must be done by 7pm tonight. No same day adds.

Parking-
No cars will be permitted in the field. All cars must be parked next to the indoor. There is also room behind the indoor for trailers. We will be utilizing all of the available space. We will have two people helping with parking. Please listen to where you are asked to park.

Finals classes will be open to all active members who have participated in three or more Next Venture shows during the membership year.
